The hospital called to check in with me and I told them about my pain. They had me call my doctor, so I called and left a message. Their office told me that I need to keep a close eye on myself and if I get a fever, bleeding, or my pain gets worse then I need to go to urgent care or the ER.
Well, I checked my temp about five minutes before they called to tell me that. I have a fever. I told them that and they said that I need to watch it very closely and go in to be seen if it gets any higher.
We only have one of those forehead thermometers, so I called H and asked him to go to the store to get me a digital one and come home asap. The very last thing I want to do right now is spend my evening at urgent care or the ER.
Thank you for all of the positive thoughts, everyone!
I'm not really feeling any better, but my temperature held steady throughout the evening and into this morning so I didn't have to make a trip to the ER. My doctor's office said that most people don't experience the GI distress that I have, but it can happen for up to a week afterward. The fever is the serious concern so I'm just continuing to monitor that to make sure that it doesn't get above low-grade.
I'm really sad that I have to cancel cooking with my mom today and that I might miss out on Thanksgiving with my family tomorrow.
