Carseat people - help. DS is ff in an Evenflo convertable; this can go in the backseat of a limo, right? Everything I'm reading says that as long as the limo has seatbelts then it can be installed like normal, but this is new territory to me. Also, does anyone know if limos have a LATCH system?
Aside from the belt issue the greatest danger to your child will be the other unbelted people in the limo as well as other unrestrained items like glass, alcohol bottles etc. I would avoid a limo with a child, especially in a car seat.

Most limos do not have latch, so you will likely need to use the seatbelt to install it and it will likely not have a tether anchor either (not a huge deal since all seats have to pass tests without the tether). And it cannot go on a car seat that is facing other than forwards. So only the back row of the limo. Carseats aren't tested on seats that are sideways facing or rear facing, so there's no way how they would hold up to the pressures put on an accident in one of those seats.
And ditto PP that all the adults must be buckled as well or they will become projectiles (that's always true, but in a limo there's less to keep them from hitting your child than in a standard car).
Hm OK good points guys; thanks! We're taking it from H's work to lay wreaths at Arlington so at least I'm not worried about bottles and glasses But maybe i can find out the limo company and call to find out about the belts/headrests. If all else fails we can always just drive our car down; I'd just rather avoid DC traffic.

Oh, and car seats don't need headrests. They're designed to provide head support in their own. There are a very few high back boosters on the market that require a headrest and it's required with backless boosters, but harnessed seats are designed not to need them.
