I got the green light from DH to spend money at the SKR sale! Hopefully I can snag some good deals. I think this is the first time in my life I've prepped for a specific sale that starts at a specific time. I normally just buy what I want, when I want. I hope the SKR site doesn't crash.
Tell me about this sale. Is it on Friday or Monday?
Also. Remind me how their sizing compares to Stride Rite.
I couldn't sleep in so I spent part of the morning cleaning out our office. For a room anyone barely uses it has a lot of crap in it. I'm debating trying to put a daybed in there for guests (not that we get many).
I am planning to do the same for my office. Either a day bed or a futon. I have a lot of friends stay the night at one point or another so it would make it easier.
DS and I went to Friendsgiving last night, DH was working. DS ended up being dressed up by 2 five year old girls in random hats and a tutu. It was hilarious.
At dessert time, he asked me if he could have some and I said no because we needed to get going, it was well past his bedtime. He proceeded to go over to the kitchen table, get in a chair, and sit quietly while others ate their dessert. I didn't notice it until 2 friends told me to look. He had his feet tucked underneath him and was sitting like a little angel. Needless to say he got his slice of cheesecake and we stayed a bit longer. He's a determined little bugger! He then cleaned his place, which the host (who has a boy 6 weeks older than DS) thought was the most charming thing ever. I told her he's been doing that since about 18 months old and she stared at me in disbelief. At least he's compliant in one area
DD was fighting bedtime hardcore last night. She just wasn't tired & wanted to play. But then when she finally went down at 9pm, she slept through the whole night...

I woke up several times during the night. DS still has a cough. I'm thinking I may take back my humidifier from my brother and put it in DS's room to see if that helps.

I'm working from home until 2:00. H went in this morning, but will probably come home after his review at 10:00 and take his afternoon call at home. We had a breakfast date after dropping A off at daycare and I may try and sneak a nap in after I finish working this afternoon and before picking up A, depending on when the snow comes in.

This/next week are kind of rough right now. This week, FIL had a biopsy to confirm that he has kidney cancer. Next week, my father is having a biopsy to determine if he has lymphoma. Fuck cancer.
On a lighter note, I have a bragplaint. It now takes twice as long to get my grocery shopping done when I take DD with me. It's not because she is into everything and slows me down; it's because other people stop us every 5 feet to talk to DD and tell me how adorable she is. DD exacerbates the problem by totally hamming it up for everyone that looks at her for even a second. I mean, I know she's obviously the cutest kid ever but I just want to finish my shopping!
So annoyed. C's pedi is supposedly open until 2 o'clock today. They're refusing to schedule sick appointments "out of order" and keep saying I can either take a 10:30 appointment or try my luck and call back half an hour later to see if they're further down the schedule. Well, apparently, they're not filling up at all, since I've already waited and called back and been offered the same spot. H and I both effing work, we just got in, it takes 45 minutes to drive home, pick C up from DC and get him to the pedi's office. Not to mention if I stay until they send us home today, I get paid for a full day, which I really really really need.
I just want to cry. Two working parents is for the birds sometimes.

Oh, and my dad called me last night and left a very standard "just checking in" message, which is weird for him. I called him back this morning. He has prostate cancer. It's very early and he has a 99% survival rate, so it's not a BIG concern, but it's scary enough. The doctor is recommending radiation to start.

Starts TODAY at noon PST (3pm EST). 35% off select styles and free shipping over $30.
I hit the trifecta of DS awesomeness this morning. 1. He STTN, 2. Until 7:30 (!!), and 3. Waited for me to come get him to use the potty. He said "no use diaper, go potty!" My awesome big boy!!!
(Yes I'm quoting myself) ANOTHER awesomeness! DS allowed DH to help him go potty! For the first time in 2 weeks, I didn't have to clean up poop! ::does little happy dance::

I was just venting to DH via g-chat about how I'm sucking at everything right now and he wrote the most romantic thing I've ever seen:
"I think our house is immaculate compared to the average American family home. I think our average family meal is better than most families eat. I think our kids get as many opportunities to do stuff as most kids if not more. I think you take care of our finances and other administrative tasks, eg budgeting better than the average American. I love you and its all true and you know it."

Today is kind of a slow day day for us. I need to frost some cupcakes, make a batch of brownies and decide how to prepare some butternut squash for tomorrow. I'm trying to relax today since tomorrow we will be gone all day at my parents in the morning and my in laws in the afternoon.

On the train on my way to work.
Still on my period and still fighting off a cold. This week sucks so far.
But DH has Friday off (normally doesn't) so I'm excited about getting lots of stuff done around the house. We've lived in our new place for almost 2 months and still have a lot to un pack and organize.

Ok, so now I don't feel so bad.
Our main rooms and bedrooms are pretty much done. But our office is a total mess and not functional at all. And we have an extra bedroom that I've nicknamed the junk room. Now that we have pushed back TTC a few months I have no motivation to get started on making that a future nursery.
DD2 hasn't nursed today. She slept late and we were on the go this morning, then she ate food, and she just went down for afternoon nap. Perhaps this is the beginning of the end?
Sonofabitch. My FSA check hasn't come yet and I needed it before the due date on our CC to pay it off like we do every month. It didn't come and I forgot to transfer the money from savings, so we just got hit with a $63 interest charge. Ugh.
