I am so not a stroller researching obsessive person. But I need a new stroller. And my mom is begging for a Christmas list like 3 days ago.
I need a light weight single stroller (other baby will be worn). In my ideal world it will:
-have a decent basket for storage
-be able to be opened and collapsed with one hand (remember I'm wearing one baby and holding the other baby while I'm doing this)
-be steered one handed
-fold down relatively compact
-not cost a fortune
I am looking at possibly the Joovy Groove Ultralight Graphite (what the difference is between graphite and non-graphite I have no idea). I don't think it will steer one handed, but other than that I think it meets my criteria? Help me not have to read 8 thousand reviews and go absolutely crazy and then go into debt to buy a $400 stroller I end up hating.
I hate my Joovy double stroller, so I wouldn't recommend the brand. I really liked my Chicco Liteway - good basket, good recline, folds up small, reasonable price, fairly good steering (although one-handed is hard on most 2 handled strollers).
The uppababy g-luxe, which everyone seems to love, is on sale at pishposhbaby.com right now for $129. I just ordered one last night.
Ooo... Am I brave enough to get a blue stroller for my girl babies? Damn gendered colors. But I really hate black strollers. Also I have a problem making decisions before sales end. But thanks for the tip, that looks like a great deal!

It's been on sale for at least a month now. I just got an e-mail advertising that it's on sale, and it said only black or sebby (which i REALLY LOVE that color).. So maybe the stock is dwindling down?

I bought the blue one when A was little, before I knew M was a boy. I say go for it. It is a great price.

I bought the blue for my baby girl. It says it's teal, which to me doesn't scream boy as much as a straight up blue. Or that's what I tell myself. I also tell myself that for that price I shouldn't be that picky
I'd get the g luxe in any color for $129 . Otherwise, I'd look at a used city micro. Not really an umbrella but the basket holds a decent amount of stuff, one handed fold, seat reclines, and compact when folded, just a different shape. Easy to steal one handed.
CityMini or Britax B-Agile (they are essentially the same).
ETA: for one-handed steering you want something with 3 wheels (not 4) and one handle (not 2) so probably not an umbrella stroller.
The overall design is the same, but the latching mechanism on the newer Britax B-Agile is a PITA to undo one handed. I don't know if the CityMini changed their design or not, but the one I bought in 2011 has no latch, just the seat handle that you pull up on to fold up and then grab the steering handle to unfold.
I'd recommend the CityMini, but the basket is impossible to access. Other than that it fits all your qualifications.
If you truly want a one handed fold, I would get a city mini
I have been debating this. One hand steering is nice, but one hand fold is almost essential. I have the city mini double, but it's too heavy and hard to fold for a lot if things - hence this new plan.

We can access the basket in our CityMini just fine as long as the seat isn't all the way reclined. It has stretchy sides so it's easy to get things in and out

Must be my model then, I can *kind of* get in on the sides, but from the back it's difficult. I think mine was an older model since I got it on Amazon in 2011 for next to nothing.

I think mine is older, too, bc it's a micro, not a mini (pretty much the same, though). The basket is a pain if you lay things like a backpack or bag down in them but if you stand the backpack up at the back of the basket, you can get in it easily. I had to play with it to figure something out. Getting small things out from the side is nbd. Also, mine latches on the side when folded.

I have this stroller and the same situation, a 26 month old and four week old that I wear. It's been fine so far, I can carry it if necessary because it also has a shoulder strap which I love. It's super light, decent basket, not huge, but fits my diaper bag, cup holder, plus it has a sun visor and it reclines.
And if you like blue, get blue. Girls love blue and I do dress my baby boys in pink - gender rules be damn!
Regarding the color - I have the Sebby (Teal) color for DD's carseat. UB only offered 4 colors - black, cream, orange, teal. Teal seemed like the best of the worst because I really didn't like any of the colors. I wish it was pink but I just put a pink blanket on her or dress her in mostly girl colored clothes. Her main stroller seat for the Cruz is the light blue color. So I say go for it.
(Though I will be buying a girly colored umbrella stroller since UB has those, so I am being a total hypocrite. :-#)
Ok, G-luxe is on my Christmas list. Now we wait to see if my mom or MIL (the only ones who might spend that much) bites.
I like the sebby color, but have some sort of weird self-conscious thing about people assuming they're boys (especially when dressed in "boy" clothes, which we do sometimes). I had them at Target the other day and one baby was wearing a pink and orange shirt and one baby was wearing a blue striped shirt (with a puff flower thing on it! sold in the girls section!) and I swear every person who talked to me assumed blue baby was a boy. Of course, I should remind myself that someone once thought they were a girl and a boy when we had them at Target in matching pink "Future Girl Scout" onesies.. Obviously I should just get over it. Sebby g-luxe is on the Christmas list.
If that doesn't work out I'll look into some of the other umbrella options mentioned here. Thanks everyone!
I have the city mini view, great stroller but shitty basket and pita to open. I also have a britax b agile, it's so easy to open, the basket is good, and the one hand steering is okay. They're like comparing apples and oranges.
