i just got home about 30 minutes ago, but i have the chocolate chip pecan pie bars in the oven now. i still have to wash, cut, and blanch the green beans and wrap them in bacon. then all i have to do tomorrow is pop them in the oven. going to parboil macaroni noodles and shred all of the cheese. might make the pumpkin gooey butter cake. cleo, if i keep it in the fridge tonight do i need to warm it in the oven before serving tomorrow or just let it come to room temp or what?
eta: i have a really shitty food processor, but i am tempted to see if it will shred all of that cheese. sometimes it just mushes stuff.
Small mishap, my 2nd box of stock was already open, like the seal was punctured. My mom and H say they didn't do it, it also appeared to have stuff floating in it:/ So, I had to boil the green beans in water instead, and I have no stock to make gravy:( Brother is frying the turkey so no drippings. I guess I'll look for a white wine gravy recipe.

This is what I cooked today:
2 dozen cardamom butter cookies 2 dozen orange butter cookies 2 dozen hazelnut cookies marble cheesecake sweet potato pie which the dog got while it was still warm. I think she in now done crapping all over the damn house, thank God. sauteed veggies for stuffing loaded baked potato soup parboiled the green beans for my cream of crap masterpiece chocolate sauce white chocolate mousse
I have made the cranberry sauce, rolls, apple pie and set the table. Tomorrow I will make the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and appetizers. I may pawn off the potatoes on my mom. Finley has also made an "apple museum" complete with a display of seeds.

And not to make anyone NOT cooking jealous, but I'm doing something different with the turkey this year and it involves a dry rub made of anise seed, orange rind, rosemary and thyme and the turkey has to sit uncovered in my fridge. It smells sooooo good in there. I want to sleep in there tonight and use my turkey as a pillow.
Our rolls are in the oven now After the kids are in bed I am attempting to make a pumpkin roll (the kind with the cream cheese filling) I am making one of those turkey fruit trays And I will probably be assembling these cheese and cracker pumpkin pies at like midnight

I've made a cranberry upside down cake, caramel pretzel magic bars, chocolate chip cookies, the sweet potato casserole, and done all of my chopping and prep for tomorrow's stuff. I also have cranberries soaking in sugar syrup in preparation for sparkling cranberries. Tomorrow, I have broccoli cheese casserole, rolls, and stuffing to make. I'll finish off the cranberries then too. My friend is doing the rest.
I want to aw my cranberry upside down cake. I'm so happy with how it turned out.
Are those fresh cranberries? I always want to use them but they scare me. They are so hard! The cake looks wonderful.
I'm finally done for the night. I prepared two casseroles for the oven tomorrow, diced the onion and celery for the dressing (the bread has been getting stale since yesterday), grated 2 pounds of cheese for the mac and cheese, the house is clean, the tables are set. Now I'm drinking wine. DONE!
Made fresh cranberry jelly, chocolate cake, raspberry swirl cheesecake, chocolate ganache frosting and cornbread for the drssing. I still have bread dough and individual peach cobblers to make. I love cooking it all but I am really missing drinking wine with my mom and sisters while we make desserts. Moving is hard.
And my napkins are horrible. I had them left over from one of the fall parties I helped throw at David's preschool. I was one cloth napkin short so used these instead. Oooops.
Late to the party because I have been WORKING over here. Went to the grocery store at 8am and the bakery at 9. Dropped stuff off and drove a god damn hour each way to pick up our turkey at a FARM. Then I came home to clean and cook. Cut my finger in the first 30 seconds.
But I cut and toasted stuffing bread, cut all veggies for veggie tray, made cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole from scratch. Made risotto for stuffed mushrooms. currently roasting sweet potatoes. At one point found myself with my head in our fridge shoving charcuterie in my face for 10 straight minutes.
