Thanks to MMM I know more about Disney than my dh's family who are going next week. And we have no plans to ever go there. They have no dining reservations. I could NOT travel with these people
My husband's relatives are finishing up a Disney trip right now and we will see them on Sunday. Now I'm curious if they had any dining reservations. I'm going to guess no.
I am exhausted because my parents insisted that lunch was at 1:00. INSISTED. We live 2.5 hours away, it was snowing, and we are an hour behind in a different time zone.
So, after staying up last night to do laundry and make a ton of sides to bring with, I got up at 6 a.m. to get ready to go, packed, and be here on time with my food. Then my dumb brother and his girlfriend who live 10 minutes away from my parents were 45 minutes late, showed up empty handed, ate, and took off for another party. And my mom got mad at me when I asked why we were rushing everything to eat at 1:00 when my other sister was stuck in traffic/snow and now my brother was super late.
And H and I got in a huge fight this morning trying to leave ridiculously early on a holiday, and I ended up packing all of us and the entire car, and my back is so sore I can hardly walk. I am ready to never travel for holidays again.
On the upside, we ate normal turkey, not yard turkey from my brother. I tried to capture a photo of Candy but had to work from a distance.
No drama here. My alcoholic uncle was in attendance so our lunch was dry, but we didn't know that and brought fancy beer. My dad and dh hid in the barn to drink theirs but I packed mine to go. Just keepin it classy
If ONE MORE PERSON hints/passive aggressively mentions/ asks about when we will have baby #2 I may take an ice pick to them. Especially since I have an adorable baby niece I have been helping with and the comments are all about adding a baby girl to the family. Wtf. Like I have some level of control over what potential/hypothetical Baby #2's gender would be. Just STFU already.

I'm laying down with a napping DS2 next to me enough the quiet right now. We are sharing a crib mattress on the floor in the IL's guest room, haha. I'm about to sneak out and re-join everyone and pray he stays asleep for a while.

Neither of our parents had rolls or mashed potatoes or wine (but I didn't expect the wine). Nods is being kind of clingy and Ace is being a little fussy, so I'm upstairs "putting him down for a nap" and GBCNing.
We celebrated Thanksgiving two weeks ago at my mom's (far away family was in town and nobody wanted me to travel any later). So today it was just the three of us and I did roast chicken, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, portobello mushrooms with green beans, and roasted chipotle chili sweet potatoes. It was all delicious and easy. Clean up took less than ten minutes.
I'm acting for my boss's boss tomorrow so trying not to go into labor tonight. That's all that is in the agenda.
One baby is taking an evening nap and seems to think she's down for the night. But not wearing PJs or an overnight diaper, and if she stays asleep now she's going to wake up at 4am, so obviously that can't happen.
Other baby is only awake if something EXCITING is happening. Which is difficult since the apartment is small and aforementioned sleeping baby has one bedroom and MIL is laying on the couch contemplating whether she needs to go to the ER. I really hope that's not the way the first (and probably only) holiday we've hosted ends. And even though my in-laws are a bit nuts I actually like them too, so I feel bad that she's sick.
Speaking of in-laws, I took a flipping out baby into the bedroom to nurse and go down for a nap just after the meal ended. When I came back (I legit didn't stall!) the dishes were almost done.
Remember how I posted about the cousin who counts her after dinner pillow mmints & announces how many she ate loudly. & repeatedly? Well this year she brought " personalized mint favors" for everyone. In little Chinese food containers her daughter decorated . With 6 mints each in the box. It was.... Special... Lol!
Also she goldfish shamed me because I let DS eat the red ones. Red dye yo! INGREDIANTS!!!
Second dinner my cousins son fell asleep at the table & great grandma showed up in a wig named " Jeanette Classic Bob in Spicy Auburn" LOL!
Dd1 was off the wall crazy all day. It was exhausting. She slept in and we didn't do much this morning, so i don't know what she was so tired, but she didn't stop all day long.
We went to my dads house for dinner-he has a fireplace and stairs, neither of which are in any way baby friendly. Dd2 was hell bent on either burning herself or crashing down the stairs the whole time. Also exhausting because she'd throw a fit every time I tried to keep her from killing herself.
And DH has no patience. None. He gets so irritated with DD1, and it just makes the problems worse. He also doesn't really mesh with my family. He ended up spending most of the non-eating time playing on his phone or with dd2.
It's 6:30 and we're home and dd1 is already asleep. I need a drink!

DS2 fell and, we thought, bit through his lip. The pedi said to ice it for 1/2 hr. and then see how deep it was before deciding to go to the er. Thankfully, the swelling went down a lot and it looked good, so no er on Thanksgiving. This was a huge relief since 2 weeks ago DS2 fell at daycare and had to get stitches in his forehead. He looks a bit like a prizefighter with his head and face wounds.
Just got home from Thanksgiving and it was a great time. We always celebrate with DH's family and it's so much fun, I can't complain. Only one crazy aunt but we all know she's crazy and just go with it.
We ate at 1pm and now it's 6. I'm hungry but we didn't bring any leftovers home except for my apple pie. Do I go for piece #3 of the day?
DH and I realized we haven't been on a date since Bs first birthday and he's 18 months tomorrow. So we are off to Catching Fire! I don't even care if he wakes up and terrorizes the inlaws.
I'm drunk, lol, copious amounts of alcohol consumed, great food, it was a great time, I didn't stress at all but I don't know if it was the Lexapro and alcohol, lol, that got me through. Girls had a great time with DH's family, and I honestly did too so I am so very thankful we had a such a great holiday today. Although hosting is a lot of work, it's nice to be at home and not traveling somewhere.

Home from a great Thanksgiving. A did NOT want to go down for her afternoon nap at our friends' house, but I think part of that was from their dog scaring her when we got there. They were BFFs by the time we left though, lol
