We are OOT. During her overnight diaper change last night, I noticed that DD has a foul odor coming from her genital area. It has persisted all day. There is no discharge, she doesn't seem like she is in pain. I can't think of anything different as far as soaps we have used recently. Same diapers, cream, etc. we have started solids, but that was 3-4 weeks ago. Would you take her to urgent care tomorrow or wait until Monday to talk to the ped? I am only concerned about it being a possible UTI.
Hmmm that's hard. They could dip her urine in office but they'd probably want to send it to the lab. Also they'll give you a bag to catch urine then you'll have to wait for her to pee. Id probably wait if no fever and acting fine. UC sucks and even more with a baby
No. I mean, you could call your pediatrician to confirm if you're really worried, but I really doubt they'll send you to urgent care. One of my daughters had this a while back (plus fever also) and we called the pedi - their only concern was the fever, and said that the weird urine smell is common with random viral crap.
What does it smell like?we thought DS had a UTI and took him to the pedi. He had the fouling smelling diapers. It smelled rancid urine. They tested and it was negative.
We discovered two day after that it wasn't happening in his pampers overnight so we used some during the day. The culprit was target diapers. Once we switched back to pampers we had no problems.

jeaniebueller Your pediatrician is probably open tomorrow at least for half a day and if not they have a doctor on call. I would call tomorrow morning.
