does your toddler do puzzles? How many pieces? I haven't gotten any for matilda so the only thing we have is a puzzle book that has four four-piece puzzles. She can do them. I wonder if I should be getting her puzzles? Is that a normal developmental thing for 2.5 to be doing puzzles?
My 3 year old nephew does quite large puzzles now, like maybe 50 pieces? but he's always been really into focusing on things. Matilda has no attention span (except for tv and even that's been somewhat recent). Sometimes the four-piece puzzles annoy her and she loses interest lol
Someone got Delaney a puzzle- maybe 50 pieces. It's too much for her. She has a few that are 2-5 pieces that she likes okay but I personally hate puzzles because of all the pieces. The set she has came in box with easy, med, hard.
He does this one puzzle that turns into a train. It's a straight line and all of the pieces fit in whatever order you want. So technically, he does puzzles? But, uh, it's not a particularly challenging one
Joshua loves puzzles. He has a bunch of M & D ones in 12-24 pieces and doors them all the time. I think he memorizes them, because he gets frustrated with the ones at daycare when he can't zip through them.

I think Olivia does as well. She does a new puzzle over and over again, I think until she's memorized it.

She mastered the Melissa and Doug chunky puzzles around 2 so we got some 12 piece regular puzzles and she couldn't do them at all. Didn't understand edge vs middle or anything, even with help. To be fair they were for 3+. So we put them up.
These little puzzles were just handed down to her from an older cousin and she does these great!

W loves puzzles. He does 6-12 pieces, but still hasn't mastered the one 24 piece giant floor puzzle we have. I bought him a couple of 24 piece m&d ones for Christmas,

Daniel wants to just jam the pieces in any way he can, he actually gets really pissed if you show him the right way, definitely not into puzzles here yet.
I did get him the M&D spelling one. Since it's sort of like the wooden chunky ones I figure he will enjoy them and maybe he will finally show an interest in letters.
Sadie has boxes of puzzles with 4 different ones per box, with 4-8 pieces each. She can very easily separate them and put them together no problem.
Holden, however, might still have issues with a 24 piece puzzle. She's almost 7.
I really think Sadie is outside the norm with her puzzle ability. She's always been hyperfocused and we've actually wondered quite a bit if she's on the spectrum (not just based on puzzles, but everything else. She's very different from how H was at that age.)
he loves the m&d ones where they obviously go in a spot- like an animal shape one I bought him some of the 12 pc ones and he seems to get it but loses his attention before finished. I got him more for christmas thinking he will be ready soon.
Max has been loving puzzles lately. He has some that are very 2-yo appropriate (a bunch of smaller ones w/ large 2-6 pieces that have words/shapes/numbers) and this M&D one that he really loves - it's a floor puzzle w/ 48 pieces. H helps him put it together but he's done it so many times now that he can some pieces himself (overall it's done w suggestions --- it's very much a collaborative process - hehe!)
I love these. They are definitely fun for the toddlers if they have some help. Be prepared to do them w/ your kid over and over again though ;-) H is more patient than me about it but I get into it when it's a new puzzle!
E can do 50 piece jigsaws pretty easily, but he is a little bit of a puzzle freak. Henry definitely could not do jigsaw puzzles at this age, like at all.
I was just thinking there's an animal puzzle that I got at target for $1 (I love those bins!) that has about 30+ pieces that Max can do himself... however, we did it together for a long time before he could do it himself. He loves it though.
I bought Maggie a bunch of character 24 piece puzzles at Dollar Tree this week and she's really good at them. If there are faces, bodies, and not too many colors, she can put one together most of the way by herself and a couple (Minnie Mouse, Pooh, and Doc McStuffins) she has done completely by herself.
eta: She loves puzzles. She's almost always doing one at daycare pickup while all the other kids are napping.
