There are some kids at DD's Little-Gym-ish class that like the trampoline that are your DS's age, or a few months older. DD didn't like it until closer to 2 but they also have a big slide and gymnastics bars so she wouldn't give anything else the time of day until more recently.
We have one without a bar - that one's been useful from about 2.5 years. DD sits on it and bounces a little sometimes, but it's not something she really loves at 15 months.
In other words, you've got about a year before it's worth the space.

Nods took a tumbling class that had a trampoline without a bar. The parents would hold the kids hands and put a for on the trampoline to help them jump. I think your boy is a little on the young side, but I'm sure he will love it in a couple months.
Nods has an October birthday, so I will put things on her Christmas list, knowing that she will grow into them before her birthday.

That's kind of my thought. DS won't.sit.still. So based on that alone I thought he would like it
My 13 month old likes to try and jump (more like bounce) on the ones with the bars. She doesn't quite get the concept of the ones without the bars yet.
I'm glad you asked, I've been considering one for my DS and ours are only a couple months apart. I do think DS will be too young for it at Christmas to 'get it'. But his birthday is a long way off so I think he'll grow into it before the next gift giving occasion.
Maybe he'll like it around spring? But at least you'll already have it!
We got one for DS when he was about 18 months old and he's used it from day one. I wouldn't say it's out of the question to be able to use it immediately but be prepared for assembly. It's horrible. LOL
DD started showing interest in one around 20 months (we're getting her one for the holidays - she's almost two). Your DS might be a little young for it at Christmas but I think he'll like it within a few months.
I bought one for my 17 mo old. We go to bounce houses fairly often and she's very good at bouncing, even though she can't really jump yet. I think that it will be a hit.

M is almost 18 months old and absolutely LOVED the trampoline with the bar at a Gymboree class last weekend. I was tempted to get him one for Christmas, the only reason I didn't was because we're already done with gifts for him.
DS is 16 months and would love one. He has gym class one a week at daycare so he uses one then. It's more like standing on it and bending his knees up and down than real bouncing at this point, but he would still use it if we bought him one now. I wanted the Target sale one but was too sick to go out Black Friday to try and get it.
