Fluke - we used ours for 2 kids. They both used them until they were 2 yrs old. DS2 liked them so much he would walk around in them. After him, they were too gross looking to give away, but they were still functional with no holes and working zippers.
Make sure you're anchoring the zipper really well - when my H does it, the zipper will separate because he neglected to really lock the bases together.
I vote fluke. DS has been wearing them since he was 6 months old, he's still wearing them now at 33 months. He's had 2 fleece and 2 cotton in every size they make. We've never had a broken zipper.
bowies is right, you do have to anchor the zipper properly. That's likely your problem.
I have owned four Halo sacks and had one zipper break. It broke practically right out if the package, before I even used it. Amazon took it back and sent he a new one.
Probably still a fluke. The rest of ours have held up well I daily use.

I have 2 . one of them the zipper kind of sucks, it's hard to get it started and has been like that since we bought it this summer. , but my other one is going strong after being purchased second hand and used by me for a year.

I was going to say this as well. The only time we've had an issue, it was because H didn't line up the zipper perfectly.

Ditto this. I had one that I thought had a defective zipper and when I emailed Halo, they suggested this might be an issue. I never had a problem after that. FYI, Halo did offer to replace the sleep sack, OP, so if you think the zipper really is defective, it might be worth contacting their customer service.
