Not a kid question but a prengnancy question. I weighed myself this morning for the first time in 2 weeks and I've lost 3.5lbs. That's ok in the first tri, right? I'm almost 11 weeks, and this past week eating has been really difficult and I've thrown up a lot. I should just keep trying to eat a lot, right? I'm big at 175lbs, but my bodyfat is about average (22%) so I'm not super overweight.
Thanks for the reassurance. I gained slowly the whole time with DD, so losing is a new thing for me. I actually feel like a real person with energy this morning for the first time in weeks, so I'm hoping it will get better from here.
You're fine. :-) I'm not skinny either, and with DD I lost weight in the first tri and gained after that - with this one I gained in the first tri but only gained a pound from my 13 week appointment until my 21 week one.
try to eat normally, you don't need extra calories during the beginning of pregnancy anyway. I lost 8 pounds in the first tri and I'm pretty lean, the doctor never once worried about the weight loss. Your baby will get what it needs! Congrats and I hope you feel better soon!
I have a gyn follow up tomorrow. I just got my period. I still go, right? My appointment is first thing so I can't call and ask.
My midwife's policy said they didn't mind if you had your period. I would go...I mean, they are used to the female cycle and are doctors, so it shouldn't bother them, right?
If your baby spits up what seemed like a whole bottle do you feed them again? Or let their stomach rest?.
Our pedi told us that even though it may look like a lot of spit up, it's probably only a tablespoon or so. We usually just wait until they are hungry again to feed again, I've found she is usually hungry sooner then usual if she spit up a bunch.

I have one! Is it possible to still have some milk hanging out in my breast, even though D weaned about 2 weeks ago? I feel like I have a clogged duct, and I'm not sure if it is something I should be worried about or not.

How are you and twins doing?
Hi!! We are doing well, how are you and the babies doing?
Recovery from the c/s hasn't been too bad and physically I am feeling good. DS was 2 lbs bigger then DD at birth and he continues to be bigger than her but they have been steadily gaining weight. I'm looking forward to seeing their heights and weights at their 1 month appointment on Thursday. I've been pumping and supplementing with formula which seems to be working thus far. Pumping is definitely annoying so not sure how long I will last but I feel good I've at least made it a month. The babies are up every 2-3 hours so we are definitely tired.
What happens at your six week PP appt? Are they going to check my BP and weigh me?
My OB/GYN treated the 6 week PP appointment like an annual exam, so the usual weight, BP, urine sample, blood work, and pelvic exam with pap. That way you don't need another routine visit for a year. We also discussed birth control options.
oswin, as long as you're staying hydrated, and trying to eat so that you get as many nutrients as you can, you're fine.
@simpledog, my GYN prefers not to do a pap during your period b/c that can make abnormal cells more difficult to spot on analysis. But an exam is fine, and some docs will do the pap anyway.

DS is 1 lb bigger then DD. She lost a little before leaving the NICU so we've been having weekly weight checks. Mine also wake every 2-3 hours and like to be up all night sometimes so I am exhausted some days. I also pump and have to give formula to help gain weight since they were preemie. I hate it but I pump enough for them to eat which is nice. My goal is to make it 6 months then use my freezer stash.
