Well I guess my DDs and I gave the baby pink eye. Since it is viral due to the nastiest cold ever I can't give him antibiotics. SIL recommended that I squirt some breastmilk in his eyes. There are a ton of blogs saying that this works. I did a search on google. Has anyone tried this?
We have done it. It has always seemed to help us! My kids have gotten pink eye several times, and the only time I have treated with prescription drops was when DD was rolling on the floor sobbing that her eye was on fire, and Dr was worried it was herpes-pink eye (meaning someone kissed her with a cold sore - ewww) and that can lead to vision loss, so I didn't want to mess around.
Dr had told me that there is a very good chance the BM helps, and it can't hurt.
I used breast milk in my own eye when I had a stye and then in E’s eye when it was red on more than one occasion. I have no idea whether she has pink eye (I suspect she didn’t), but breast milk will not hurt and certainly can help.
