My LO is 8 weeks on Thursday and he can't sleep flat on his back. He STTN for the most part in the RNP and I'm sort of scared for the crib transition. I didn't have this issue with DS1.
From the time we took him home until maybe 4 months. At which point he slept on his tummy in The crib so I'm not exactly the poster child of safe sleeping. DS had reflux which is why he preferee the Incline and just started STTN regularly at about a year.
Yes, she slept in the RNP from birth until about 3.5 mo when we moved her to the crib. She still sometimes hangs out in the RNP during the day at 6 months old, but we will likely put it away soon because of how much she squirms and tries to literally treat it like a jumper.
My LOs have been sleeping in their RNPs since they were about 2 weeks old. We've put them in their cribs a couple of times in the last week or so for nap time to try to ease the eventual transition. They have only lasted about half and hour or so in the crib thus far, but we're going to keep trying it.
DS1- wouldn't sleep flat. Transitioned to crib at 10 weeks at the recommendation of his physical therapist because he had torticollis. One rough week and he was fine. DS2- slept in our room in the rnp for maybe 10 days. Transitioned to crib, no issues, but he is fine laying flat
We went cold turkey from RnP to crib at night at...2 months exactly, I think. AJ had had sporadic naps and some playtime in the crib but one night I just decided to go for it. The end of the crib mattress was propped so the angle was more like the RnP, I think that helped.

We're at 2 months in the RNP for all naps and overnight right now (DS2 is 2mo old) and I'm starting to think about transitioning him to the crib. He sleeps fine in it but still no more than 3-4 hours at a stretch so it's not like I'll be losing out on a good nights sleep.
Yes, every night from birth until 2.5 months or thereabouts - he is not a great crib sleeper so it still gets used starting at 4 am when we are done fighting sleep with him. He will also use it for naps since he refuses any flat surface for those. He is 5 months (and small for his age).
DD was in the RNP until about 3.5 months. We started the crib for naps around 10 weeks, and then I rolled a towel in an upside down u shape under the crib sheet to make the transition to the crib overnight.
We used RNP overnight for a long time.....5 months we transitioned to crib full time and sleep trained at same time. Probably should have stoppe sooner but DS was wearing a harness at night for hip dysplasia and laying flat was never his favorite. Once he consistently could flip over back and forth in harness and sleep on belly, he was happy in crib.

Would she lay on it or was this more of a halo around her head? Mine hate to lay flat so I think we need to do something like this.
Until she was about 4 months. Then we tried the crib for a bit and she wasn't having it, so she ended up in a bassinet for about a month before she started moving around and we had to go back to the crib. I'm pretty sure the RNP was a big factor in the need for a helmet, but we needed sleep.

You can also put a rolled up towel under one end of your crib mattress to give it a slight incline. We do that if DD has a cold.

Mine sleeps in RNP over night. 2 weeks old.. started naps in the crib today... he did great but EVERY time I put him down someone came to the door and got the doc stirred up. Thinking im gonna do crib for naps this week... the first 4 hour (10-2)sleep next week and then both the following week. (10-2 and 230-630)
DD slept in her rnp overnight for a reallllly long time - just over 8 months. She slept really well and soundly in it, plus I was having some difficulty moving her into her own room after my mom died. I figured she was happy, I was happy, and I'd KOKO. With that said, I started having her take naps in her crib sometime around 5 months IIRC. I knew she'd have to nap in a crib at DCP's house and I wanted her to be prepared for that. Around that time I would put her down for the night in her crib, but I let her sleep in the rnp in my room after her dream feed.
Transitioning her to her crib overnight was much more difficult for me than it was for her.
She slept in it from basically birth until just shy of 6 months, minus the month of no-sleep-hell where she "slept" in her crib.
DD was a difficult sleeper at this age. Once I decided to let tomorrow take care of itself and just worry about getting her to sleep however was reasonably safe and would get her to sleep, she started sleeping much better. At 2 months? No rush to ditch the RnP.
Didn't have one with j but we did for the girls. They both slept in them until about 5 months. I wish I could put them in there now lol. Seriously, when they slept in those they gave me a 4 to 6 hr stretch. It was absolutely worth it. Transition was fine. The issues we had had to do with unswaddling them and not going from rnp to crib.
