If you've read this, can you tell me how scary it is? Say, in comparison with the first Harry Potter book -- scarier? less scary? I'm trying to a find a good Christmas gift book for DD, something that we will read together (me reading aloud to her). She's 6 and not a huge fan of scary things, but she loved the first HP. (We haven't tackled the second yet, as I think it's still a little too scary.)
Oh, less scary. DEFINITELY less scary than the second HP book. I didn't think it was as good as HP. It reminded me a bit of the Phantom Tollbooth if you've read that. But it was good, and had a good message, IMO.
