Go ahead and have a good cry. Then - concentrate on the washer - you need one that works and is reliable.
Drying - for now, consider line drying outside if your weather permits, inside using folding racks or lines in the basement. It beats going to the laundromat. While doing so - save for the dryer with what you would pay at the laundromat. Cut back on Christmas spending and all non essentials.
When I had my first child I had a washer but no dryer AND I cloth diapered. Every evening I did a load of baby items and then put the drying rack in the bath tub and the items were dry by morning. This lasted 6 months until we were in our first home.

You know you can hang clothing to dry - no one we know have a dryer in London (with kids) and it's what we all do. But I do hope that your washer and your dryer work soon!
I would cry a big bucket of tears. Having a w/d is so important to quality of life. Not having one is the kind of daily crap that really wears a person down. I'm sorry

Hang in there - life can get better.
It actually doesn't. While it sucks in general, yes, going to the laundromat means all of my laundry is done in two hours. Spreading it across my house or the four winds means a day or so.
I really think we need a special Georgia version of Dixie, I wish I was in the land of pollen, all my laundry might be fucked up, look away, look away, get Claratin.
