The trial for the guy, Kaarma, who killed a foreign exchange student just started this week. He killed a teen after baiting him into his garage by leaving alcohol and a purse out and the garage open while he had a baby monitor set up so he could run out and shoot. After all the self-defense people who've gotten off, I'm not hopeful, but it is in one of our most liberal counties in MT.
The only silver lining to this is that the guy who drafted the "Castle Doctrine" type legislation that the defense might use to say Kaarma was defending his property even said the defendant was "shooting in the dark." That is good news IMO and hopefully Kaarma will be found guilty.
Here's backstory on the murder which includes Kaarma saying to his hairdresser that the police were not doing enough, "And I’m not (expletive) kidding, you’ll see this on the (expletive) news. I’m going to (expletive) kill ’em (kids who previously burglarized his garage.)"
