2curlydogs - you are on my naughty list for posting such a cute picture of a newborn. Those are like crack and I need ZERO more kids.
If it helps, here's the reality - I was up from 11pm to 3am with the other child, who was PISSED at me for not nursing him. So he woke up, would scream and flail, I'd get him calmed down, he'd drowse off, then start screaming again.
For 3 hours. He went down around 1:45, I couldn't fall back asleep. Then he woke back up at 2:30 for another, shorter bout of pissed off baby.
Does that help?
But. LOOK HOW BIG B IS NOW!
I mean, really. He's ridiculous. He got a robe and slippers for his present and was all excited about it.
He's going to get a die cast Dusty Crophopper plane to match his El Chupacabra one this afternoon. And a chocolate "gold doubloon" the size of his head.
I just ordered one of these for DD for Christmas. We talked about Santa bringing a special gift if she leaves her bink out for him, and she said she wanted a unicorn.
She also said Santa would bring her a talking Dora doll that she saw in the Target toy book. I bought it weeks ago when Amazon had it on sale. Score!

Happy Birthday to B!!!
Picky eating is generally a phase for toddlers, yes? Please say yes. I hate that DD used to eat anything and now she won't touch foods she used to love (chicken, pasta, even MAC AND CHEESE).

Toddlers can survive on cheerios and air. DD is still picky, but it's gotten better than the days where we didn't even bother trying to get her to eat with us.
My boss is having his first baby this March. I just checked his registry so I could suggest to our team that we pitch in for a gift - it's a sad sad registry. It's literally got a car seat with no base, a snap n' go, a bunch of onsies and sleepers, a changing table pad, 2 crib sheets and a bunch of cloth diapers and that's it.
I just asked him when they were going to finish their registry and he goes, "why, is it missing things?"
dude. Really?
I gave him a look and he admitted that his wife is entirely in charge of the registry and he has absolutely no clue what is going on with it. I told him to just let me know when she's done with it, because I'm assuming she isn't.

I swear that DS lived on bananas and cheese for 6 months. He is much better now.

Thankfully DD loves bananas and cheese still. It's just amazing to me that she is growing unusually (she hit a serious growth spurt at around 9 months and at 14 months there is no slowing down, though she's still on the charts and everything), and yet even the weight gain since she got picky at around her first birthday is higher than what you normally expect from toddlers. What a weirdo.

Yes. I also would like to say we are currently entering that stage with DD, she used to eat everything. Last night she ate her pasta, skipped the chicken and picked every piece of broccoli off her plate and put it in my bowl, lol.

can i AW something? ben is rocking the shit lately (and i'm not referring to the shit on the floor thing. that's still happening but MUCH less)
the other day ben asked for a toy. he wants a lego set. he ASKED for it. so i told him to ask santa. and the best part? it was only $12! i got ben the first present he ever asked for!!!
and last night he kept kissing me saying "i wove you, mommy." that was a good day.
Santa came to DS's school yesterday. He ate lunch with them, read them a story, and then they took Santa pictures. I wish I could post the pictures of the story time that they put on FB here - every other kid is raptly leaned forward, eyes on Santa. They look like picture-perfect. DS is leaned back in his chair - first his hood is on, then off, then on. His hair is standing almost straight up in the end. I can't wait to see what the Santa pictures look like, lol.
Also, he apparently told Santa he wants Legos, books, and puzzles. Very nice choices, since those things have already been purchased.
I've technically finished shopping for C, but he is talking non-stop about the Grimlock/Optimus Stomp n Chomp toy (big, noisy plastic, ugh). It was on the list I sent out to the relatives, but no one's picking it up. Do I go over budget and spoil him so he can have that awesome feeling of getting that ONE toy you obsessed over on Christmas morning, or do I hope that the other gifts keep him occupied; and if he's super disappointed offer that he can use his Xmas funds and savings to buy it himself?
I remember my parents once took me shopping the day after Christmas once to buy a toy because I was soooo disappointed with Santa (can't even remember what that toy was anymore, lol, maybe a doll?)

Guys, Grace just asked if she can go to confession before Christmas. I asked "is this so you can clean up on Christmas?" And she looked me dead in the eye and said "yep."
