So...is there anybody here who would NOT want me to scream their screenname and run at them if I saw them in public? Either with or without hugging as required (sushi)? Because you should say that now in case there is ever a chance that I see you somewhere.
Everybody knows I spend way too much time on a message board so I have no qualms explaining to friends and family that I met people on the internet. My mom has come to half my GTG's for shit's sake. I forget that other people dont' like real life to find out about their internet life.
I'd be okay with anyone approaching me if they actually post here at least occasionally. If you've posted once or twice or zero times and you approach me, I might scream.

I don't think I know anyone here. That said, I did find a sorority sister of mine on TN one day. That could have been awkward, but luckily she was one that I'd liked. I don't think she was around for the migration, though.
DH and I were driving through @helenabonhamcarter's neck of the woods a few weeks ago when he wanted to stop at CB for lunch. I thought long and hard about what I would say or if I would just keep my creeper mouth shut if I saw her. We ended up not eating there anyway. The end.
There are people I know IRL that I think might either be here or read here based on what they post on FB, but I haven't put anything together. It is creepy to think someone you know is lurking and watching everything you post though.
bottleofwhite, who doesn't post here much, knows a few people IRL that I know IRL. Same with y4m, though I am not sure we have talked about it. It's the VA college connection.
One of my co-workers is a Bumpie for sure, and we have talked about it, but I don't think she's on GBCN. Also, I'd say most anything I say here in front of her. She's cool.
I wonder if I'm somewhere in this VA college connection web. I didn't realize there was one.
Just from reading the boards I know there are KC folks on here, but I work from home unless I'm traveling and am a dedicated introvert, so it's doubtful I know them. I did work in HR all over the city for nearly 20 years, so its possible I may have met one of them in passing.

I ran across an older alum of my sorority once on a FB post by TN regarding the boards. (Is that convoluted enough?) So I have no idea what her SN was, but she was around.
If you know me PM me. I'll handle it from there....
I wouldn't know what you look like, but I'm pretty sure if I ever meet/see Idris that I'd be all, "Hey, how's it going? Oh how's Sou doing these days?"
Oh and I'm pretty safe - nobody comes to MT for anything. I might run into the one other MT someday b/c she's only 45 min from me. In CO, my best friend came from a random meeting at a prenatal yoga class where she said, "Aren't you OldScreenName on TheNest?" Love that she did that b/c I love her and her family.
Want to talk about a successful internet stalker? I have gone so far as to show up in 6 different states to track down 26 GBCNers in the flesh. And so far only 1 has promptly GBCGBCN'd the day after the encounter.
None of you are safe.
You know this is child's play to me right? ttt and I hooked up in Rio and then two months later in Paris.

I won't lie, one of the many reasons I stopped lurking and started posting was that there were so many people from my area here. I've made a lot of great friends on the internet and I was hoping to do so again, with people who didn't live on the other side of the country.
ETA: I'm mildly surprised I don't know anyone here because it is Smalltimore after all.
It is possible that my old coworker/law school classmate lurks around these parts. She used to lurk on the Knot/Nest when I worked with her seven years ago. I discovered this when we were temporarily put in a shared office space. She probably saw all my wedding photos and crazy posts, which happened while we went to law school together but before we started working together.
On TB, I figured out one of the posters was someone I worked with in another office, and she figured out me. Lost track of her id when my pregnancy ended and hers didn't. Always wonder a bit if she still posts and if she's here, but we have never actually acknowledged IRL knowing we were posting there.

Oh, technically I know who some people are IRL because we have mutual FB friends from other boards. I don't think that quite counts.
I did pm one poster who I interacted with on a mutual friend's page a fair bit. I felt weird being able to make that connection when she could not. Plus I was kind of a fangirl.

Was it me (SP) or another one?
Am I being hella creepy right now?!
Ah! Hiiiii! I wasn't sure if you had made the jump or not. I had wondered though, when I saw this screen name. ::waves::
A lovely gal on ML is my neighbor, but we knew each other from TN and we know each other here. She's a sweetie and brought us food when my pregnancy went to shit and we were basically living in the NICU.
I think everyone here as heard this story, but I'll share it again. I know real name of the ML poster elle because we've talked lawyershop offline before.
Well, last year, I was sitting in court waiting for my turn, and the judge called up the first case, and the lawyers for that case announced themselves. One of them was elle! Of course, there is no appropriate way to say "I know you from the internet!!!!!!!!!!" in a courtroom full of people. So I just stared at her like a stalker, then sent her a PM when I got home.

There needs to be a GBCN bat signal.
Perhaps we need to commission Unity Horse lapel pins?
