I also think if the shot was anywhere else the gun would have been more visible.
The gunshot entry wound is above her left eye. I thought for sure it went in at her chin based on how it went down. The behind the scenes video with the special effects guys confirms that it went in above her left eye. But it's also pretty clear in these gifs that I'm putting in a separate spoiler tag because they are graphic.
Does Dawn have a magical invisible go go gadget arm? That second gif I don't understand how the bullet could get above her eye with the gun where it is.
The gun was so out of the way, when I first watched I thought someone else had shot Beth from behind.

It seriously makes no sense to me.
I assumed it was the chin. I thought it had to be the chin. Nothing else makes sense! But then I saw those gifs and I was like...wait. Is that her WOUND? Then I saw that they confirmed it in the behind the scenes video. Tonight I asked MH and he was like, "obviously her chin."
I was just curious because to us it seemed like it was the most logical assumption - and most obvious. Plus the wound being above her eye is, quite frankly, bizarre, IMO. I don't see how it could have happened.
I'm mostly just impressed you managed to last this long without a spoiler!
I have magical spoiler avoiding powers usually. Usually. I think the only major charecter death I have had spoiled was back in season 4. And that was on Pinterest!
eclaires I am always way behind so I'm definitely not upset. It's the risk I run by not having cable. I just thought this thread might be something like "if you walk walking dead which of these awesome shirts would you want for Christmas?"

I really am sorry! TWD spoiled it on their Facebook page before it aired even so I really thought most people had seen it.
I'm impressed by your spoiler avoiding powers and your willpower though - usually I am the biggest hurdle to not being spoiled lol. I can't resist looking if it's out there.
so eclaires, i want you to spoil the shit out of the rest of the season for me, ok? just PM me all the info you have.
fuck them at this point.
Spoilers for the rest of the season are very thin because of where filming went down. I knew of this spoiler but I didn't believe it because it made no sense whatsoever in the context of what we'd seen on screen so I didn't believe it. Plus I felt like the evidence for it was suspect.
Have you seen the change.org petition? I'm surprised by how many signatures it has. Almost 20k. For the total viewing audience that's a drop in the bucket but 20k is a lot considering the number of people who don't go online to talk about the show or even watch talking dead. TWD itself got upwards of 15m viewers for Coda but talking dead only got 2 or so million. Then the number of people who bother to go online is even smaller. The main Facebook spoiler page has roughly 200k likes but only probably has a couple thousand max who actually post and interact on the page. In fact most of their posts only get a couple hundred likes so it may not even be 1000 active posters. So to me 20k seems like a lot when you consider that most viewers watch and then turn off their TV.
People are also sending spoons with Beth's lines on them to the head guy at AMC. Which I think is hilarious esp because they are writing Beth's lines on there. Like "I'm not just another dead girl. Just kidding. I am dead." Lol.
The reviews are horrible too which makes me happy. I have not read one positive review and they all say the same thing - it felt like they felt like they needed to kill someone and figured beth was the most expendable. I think they miscalculated on that one... Hugely.
how could they even bring her back? the rest of the season is finished filming, correct?
It is.
I think it's mostly a statement at this point, but some people think she may come back anyway due to the weirdly contrived gunshot. It's basically the only way you can survive a gunshot wound and apparently, historically, it's the one people survived with holes in their heads or something (like little medical attention). Also, in the comics Carl is shot in the head by a character with a lot of parallels to Dawn in the same area/way, so some people think this might be a remix of that anyway. I'm not sure. I think it's unlikely, but the gunshot wound is so weird to me. Since it doesn't cross the brain (right to left) and just affects one hemisphere, it's apparently survivable.
But then Emily Kinney was crying all over the Talking Dead, so who the hell knows. I think most people think she's not coming back and like 1% (if that) think this was planned and she will.
I'm at like 99.9% she's dead, but when I found out the gunshot wasn't under her chin, I was like...why? I don't understand why you set up such a contrived gunshot wound unless it's for a reason. And if she's dead, what could the reason possibly be? Just weird.
