I'm waiting for DH to wake up. I already posted some furniture on Craigslist to sell and finished Christmas shopping at Amazon. Once he gets up, we need to head to Lowe's to pick up some packing supplies to put away our china and glassware. We have them out from Thanksgiving and since we're moving in Jan/Feb, we figured best to pack it up now since we won't use it again.
Later tonight we are going to a party at one of our favorite wineries. Another couple is joining us, and it will definitely be a fun night!
Met up with my normal running crew and ran 11 miles. First half was great because I was running with a guy who was giving me math problems to solve while I was running (LOL) but the way back was really hard as I've been sick all week (autoimmune issues).
Went to Michaels for another tree skirt and also bought another wreath (we have like 4 now in the house)
I have a few more errands to run, eye appointment and then I have 2 holiday parties to go to tonight. Guess I don't have time to clean the house today..bummer.
going shopping - want to cash in my $20 off $50 at sephora and find an outfit for a few holiday parties. FI's boss sent an email specifying "festive" dress attire so I'm going to look for something with a little more pop.
tonight we're hitting up Christkindlmarket for spiced wine and then we'll go out to dinner. tomorrow I have my third (and hopefully final) makeup trial.
I'm procrastinating because the next thing on my to-do list is to put the lights on the Christmas tree, and I haaaate doing that. After that, it's time to shop online - my in-store shopping will take place on weekdays.
I'm currently curled up on the couch sipping fancy hot chocolate and watching Love Actually. I went to yoga this am then out with my mom to check out a new bakery and finish up some Christmas shopping. MH is out at the movies with his little. I need to make a batch of pizza dough later and stew for dinner. It's damp and rainy here.

Sent out my secret santa gift yesterday and decorated our tree last night. Definitely put me into a Christmas-y mood!
On the agenda today- gathering all the gifts that were delivered throughout this week and trying to get organized to wrap them sometime this week. Later tonight, DH and I are going to a beer dinner at an irish pub. Super excited. Our favorite brewery is introducing a brand new beer at the event.
Tomorrow- Hoping to keg my latest batch of homebrew so I can take a growler of it when we visit my family for Christmas.
crashgizmo I haven't been around in weeks but you got the job? I'm assuming that is why you're moving? If so then HUGE congrats!
Let me know if you ever travel to SF for work! We'll grab coffee (or wine).
Yes I did get the job! I found out right before Thanksgiving, so we are Los Angeles bound. I'm actually heading up to SF in early January, but not sure when. I'll PM you when I know!
I was up an hour before H and DD today and it was so nice to enjoy the quiet house by myself for an hour!
Then we picked up a Christmas tree and went to pancake breakfast fund raiser. This afternoon we'll set the tree up and I'll decorate it tonight while watching the Big 10 championship.
I am having a "not-going to think about anything that makes me miserable" day. Or try not too. We went out to breakfast, Home Depot, quick stop for milk. I put Chicken and Noodles in the crockpot, Mr. Pom is finishing hanging Christmas lights, putting up the tree, I gathered up all the fall stuff, stored it and drug out the Christmas decorations, stockings, candles, etc... New Kitty Pom and I are rocking Christmas tunes and later we are watching Elf, the old Grinch cartoon while I work on our holiday cards and then going to ride our golf cart around the hood and see the lights. We are going to be fucking happy about the holidays today if it kills us.
Having a party at my house tonight. I have some last minute things to tidy up. I need to glue gun garland to my skirt that I am wearing tonight and go buy some wine glasses. I'm still laying in bed though.
I was eating lunch in the cafeteria and an older lady came and sat at the table directly across from me, even though the entire cafeteria was empty. She talked to me the entire time and it was really annoying. She was asking me a bunch of questions about my life and wanted me to explain why I don't have children. I was trying to be nice because I thought she was the family member of a patient but come to find out she lives in the neighborhood and came to the hospital to eat lunch.

I went out and did my 8.5 mile run. Last long run before my next half marathon. I'm kind of glad training season is ending, the weather sucked today so I'm glad I can cut back my runs starting in 2 weeks. And my half is in SC so no more snowy runs if I don't want to!
Then I went to brunch and had amazing food including gingerbread french toast.
Now I'm going to finish wrapping gifts that have been delivered and figuring out what else we need. I think we are done to a couple gift cards and wine to get.

DD1 had rehearsal for the Nutcracker this morning at 8:45, so she and I got breakfast at Dunkin Donuts on the way :-)
Now I'm cleaning the house and trying to wade through 2 months of school papers. We have a new babysitter coming Monday, and I don't want her to think we're slobs.
I think we're headed out to Costco once DD2 wakes up from her nap to buy our Christmas tree. I HATE, HATE, HATE Christmas decorating, but I love the way the house looks when it's all decorated, so I need to suck it up and get started before we're putting up decorations on the 24th!

Today was odd. We got a babysitter and went Christmas shopping during the day. Then we went to an early dinner and are home online shopping and goofing around online. Bonus: the babysitter folded about three loads of laundry and washed about two more. I LOVE her.
We hung drywall . We have 40 more sheets in our basement, but I do not think we will need them all to finish the drywalling, which means some money back! Our goal is do be done drywalling this month, eek.
My cousin and sister and their spouses are coming over and then we're going out to dinner. Which is in theory an awesome plan, but...
Okay, so my sister is a bit of a crazy jealous person.
Anyone remember THE TIME WHEN I MET MEREDITH VIEIRA yesterday? My cousin's wife (L) and I have always discussed the Today Show and have discussed Meredith's show at length, so I requested two tickets months ago with L in mind. This was at the exclusion of my friend E who is obsessed with Meredith too, and I felt bad about that. To my knowledge, my sister has never watched the Today Show and has no idea who Meredith is, so I didn't even think to include her (particularly because tickets seemed not SUPER easy to get?)
At any rate, my mom, my sister, and I emailed on Thursday night with cat and dog videos. When L and I got to the Today Show plaza yesterday and made a sign with "[Last Names] LOVE TODAY" written on it, we took a picture and I sent it to my mom and sister as part of the email thread we had going, thinking that they'd think it was cute that the sign was family-related. My sister writes back to us -- adding L -- with "#feelingslighted." I wrote back "I didn't think you liked Meredith!"
So then I sent my mom an email later with the picture of L, Meredith, and me. She sent it along to my sister (grrrr mom!!!) and my sister later texted L, our cousin (L's husband), and me "Christmas card preview" then she put the photo of us with Meredith, and then "No wait, I'm not in it." Um... super awkward? Particularly to include the cousins in it?
So tonight should be interesting because she's obviously annoyed that L (who she barely knows but I'm very close with) and I hung out without her, in a context that I don't think she would have enjoyed anyway.
v Your sister sounds like she has pretty delicate feelings and possibly enjoys having something to bitch about with regards to a special thing for you?
My brother called today, and he, sil, and our niece are going to come and celebrate Christmas with us. I am so excited!!!!!
Between this news and the fact that the leaves are finally all of the trees, it finally is starting to feel more like winter here. I'm ready to stop being cranky
