Pre-Christmas panic! I'm going to be really busy between now and then so today is the only weekend day I have to get everything done. I haven't even started decorating yet and I have so many presents to buy still!
We bought and put up our tree (but haven't decorated yet) and put up some outside lights. This is our first Christmas in a house so it was all a learning experience. They're pretty basic, but that's all we have time for.
My AW for today: I just went and spent all of our HSA (or is FSA? I always forget...) money ($700) for this year and got 2 pairs of Kate Spade glasses and contacts for DH and me for the next 8-ish months. I only went over my limit by $3.
To make it MM: I got 5% from ebates for all my purchases and saved $90 on my glasses just by googling the company name + discount code.
I had my last class of the semester this morning. 1:30-4:30p on Saturday and 8:30a-12:30p on Sunday gets tiresome, even if it is only one weekend a month. I'm about 1/3 of the way through my grad program. Going to school is really getting old.
I have a nice fleece jacket on which the zipper broke. I took it to a seamstress to replace the zipper but she said it could not be done.
If I don't want the jacket anymore (I don't like wearing it unzipped), what should I do with it? Throw it away (seems wasteful)? Give it to goodwill with a note attached? Seems mean to donate it without a note knowing the zipper is broken. I'm overthinking this.

How is the zipper broken? Is the pull broken? The zipper separated? If so where?
I would put $$ on the fact that it can be replaced and the seamstress either a)didn't want to bother or b) that skill is beyond his/her level.

The zipper separates at several places when I try to zip it up. It doesn't seem to be a regular metal zipper, it's a clear plastic type (?). It's Under Armour, so not cheap.
I stupidly wore it while pregnant (not hugely so, though), so it might have taken a little stress.

We replaced a zipper on a nice fleece. Went through our dry cleaner. I'd do a bit more checking before you give up.
Happy Birthday @mrschicken!!! I'm glad you had a great day and got to get hammered!
We had a super lazy day. DH went to a bachelor's party last night and the wife of one of the other guy's that went spent the night at our house bc they are from out of town. We went and picked the guys up at the hotel this morning and went out to breakfast at a local dive. Then DH and I have basically laid around and watched tv the whole rest of the day. It has been fabulous.

Thanks. I've had the most luxurious afternoon feeling my brunch buzz float away. It's been divine...now if only dh had sprung for an on call masseuse...
