I'm meeting a friend for breakfast in about an hour, then grocery shopping. Don't hate me, but I think I'm going to go to Walmart and Aldi. I usually shop at the nice local grocery store, which isn't fancy but is a great company and pleasant experience. But I'm broke and need a lot of things like TP and laundry detergent, and I know they'll be cheaper at Walmart than the regular grocery store. As will probably many of the food items. We don't have a super Target nearby or I'd go there. I hate Walmart as a company and hate shopping there, but this time money wins. Wish me luck that I'm not in line for 45 minutes
Walmart & Aldi are very mm, I can't hate on you going there! Have fun at breakfast.
We have friends coming over this morning with their two little ones for a quick visit & then we'll be back to the construction crew in the basement - trying to finish drywalling the ceilings today if at all possible - would be GREAT to be done with the lifting. On the plus side, my shoulders are getting very, very strong from all the overhead nonsense.
We also have our wood burning stove roaring & it is soooo cozy!!!!
Some of DH's college friends were in town for a concert last night. We're meeting them for lunch at a wing place to watch the college football playoff selection special.
Hopefully there will be a lot of happy Buckeyes in the house
I am hoping I can start and finish my holiday shopping. We have to take DH's battery out of the car to test it and hope, pray, whatever that it's just the battery and not something electrical (I just replaced his car battery in March). Hopefully I can get my 10 mile run in this afternoon.
It's my birthday! I am having cheesecake and coffee right now for first breakfast, and meeting up with friends for brunch and mimosas later. It's so much fun to see posts from friends on fb and think of a a good time I had with that person, from epic camping trips to passing notes in high school.
I am trying to pump myself up to go for a run. I'm not convinced I want to go more than 1 mile. I'm doing the runners world thanksgiving to New Years streak, so one mile is a given.
Happy Birthday @mrschicken Cheesecake for breakfast sounds like the perfect way to start the day.
I'm on call today so I'm sitting on the couch in my PJs. I want to go to the outlet malls but I know if I do then I will get called the second I get there. If I sit on my ass and waste the day then I probably will not get called.
Cooking bonanza in my kitchen this am. It's not even 11 am and I made roasted cauliflower and garlic soup, black bean and avocado enchiladas, pizza dough, and french toast. I also prepped some butternut squash for dinner tonight. I need to go shower then take the dog for a walk to the pet store to pick up some treats and doggie toothpaste. I have some cranberries that I need to use, maybe I'll make a cranberry nut bread later.
I have a ton of clothes I need to bag up to donate too.

Do you have a recipe for these enchiladas or do you just wing it?

I winged it. A can of TJs refried black beans with jalapeƱo (I meant to use just regular black beans, but grabbed these and didn't realize it until I opened the can. ), 1 1/2 cups of corn, 2 avocados diced, some cumin, cilantro, and ancho chili powder - using the dump and taste method. Rolled them in flour tortillas, topped with enchilada sauce and Monterrey Jack and baked for 25-30 min at 350.
I woke up at noon and found MH on the couch nursing a hangover from the concert he went to last night. I don't have personal plans for today and he's in no shape to do anything, so I'll probably just do laundry.
He left his car at his friend's house so we'll need to go get it at some point. And this friend has a coffee grinder so I'm going to ask if we can use it, because I accidentally bought whole bean coffee at TJ's yesterday and it's a big PITA to go back and exchange it.

Happy birthday @mrschicken!!!
I'm just getting back from running in a relay race with my running club. It was a last minute decision but I still did well considering I wasn't planning on it. Now to shower and decorate the tree a bit. Then off to my dads for dinner later.
