This is a bit of an oxymoron question, but DH and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary next year. One of the things we've talked about doing is taking a trip together to Hawaii, since we now live on the West Coast.
I would like to do a more upscale trip for 5-6 days at a 4 or 5 star hotel on Maui, but don't want to spend a crazy amount of money (5k or less). Are there any good sites for finding luxury deals on trips to Hawaii?
You could also try Jetsetter.com - I think they have a category for Hawaii.
Also try Costco. We booked our hotel in Maui (the Westin Maui in Ka'annapali) through Costco. We got a great rate with a car rental that was cheaper than booking through the hotel itself or another 3rd party site.

First, I'd find myself a Virtuoso travel agent that will get you free stuff for booking (they don't cost you anything more as they get kickbacks from the hotel). You'll get breakfast included, upgrades for rooms, a welcome amenity, an anniversary gift (if you tell them it is your anniversary), etc.
The way I do it is that I go out to good ole Expedia or Hotels.com and then enter the days I want to travel so I can see what the rack rates are for the rooms. Use filters to set it at just 5-stars, then go from there. You can get pretty good prices on some of the islands (for example, Maui Four Seasons in the off-season is around $400-$600 for a standard room; the Four Seasons in Lanai are even less).
When are you wanting to go? If you send me your dates I'll play around with it later today and let you know the best deals I can find. Also, if you're willing to do a delayed trip (i.e. not exactly over your 10th anniversary), you may be able to get some deals (the Four Seasons often run promos where it is stay 5, pay 4, or they give you credits towards costs on-site - those are both available through the travel agents as well).
If you're focused on Maui, my short list for luxury hotels would be the Ritz Carlton (I don't love the location as much personally), Four Seasons, Grand Wailea, and Andaz, the latter three of which are located in Wailea.
I've never heard of a virtuoso travel agent! We're actually very flexible on the travel dates, except for that it would need to be after 3/31 (Our anniversary is 7/31). I am considering April, since I'm certain I will be in need of a vacation at that point (I'd go earlier, but critical time at work between Jan & Apr for me). I was thinking Maui, since we'd likely be bringing our kiddo, and I've heard it's a bit more family friendly and has good resorts.

Totally thread jacking, but I'm staying at that Andaz in feb. Any tips? Aside from the volcano sunrise and biking thing obviously. Never been to Hawaii at all
