I need some help. Every year I think I ask the same question!
I do a grab with Jay's family. all the personalities are SO different. MIL/FIL are about 70 y/o. 4 don't drink and gift cards are already abundant for the grab.
I doubt a one size fits all gift exists, but any suggestions?

Sounds crazy but out most popular gift in the family exchange is always one of those salami/cheese/cracker baskets. I usually include a cute knife and cutting board with it.

I have to get a gift for one of these this weekend for a work exchange next week (that they JUST sent me a notice for on Monday, grrrrr).
I was planning to look for a nice candy dish, fill it with some chocolates and slap on a gift card for either the liquor store or a coffee shop... which ever I end up going to first this weekend, LOL.
I have no idea what I'd do for a family one. I actually hate these kind of exchanges when people are expecting practical gifts, though I don't mind the ones where it's gag-gifts or people aren't expecting much out of them. I like Sit's idea of vinegar/oil sets (I've seen some at Target that look good) or down here I know a variety pack of Hot Sauces would probably be enjoyed by most people. People put hot sauce on everything down here, though.

I like the idea of the food basket. The people with freakishly restricted diets by choice miss out but it'll make someone else happy! Not everyone can wallow in the sadness of bland food!
