Craigslist furniture: has it changed?

H and I are pretty close to closing on a house (nothing is final until we get the keys though!) and of coruse I'm starting to look for furniture to fill up some empty space we'll have! 
We're on a budget, so yay Craiglslist...until I hopped on the past week or so and it seems to be all ads from local cheap furniture places? Where's people's used stuff? I'm looking for some tables and a dresser I can refinish, but seems to be far and few betwween as it's all ads!

Is that just how CL is now?

In the left bar in the furniture section, look for (and click) "by owner" which *should* filter out all the scammy posts for $90 mattresses.

I've found that a lot of CL users have transitioned to FB 'yard sale' sites. I've had equal success at both, but I think I like CL better still.

I hate all the discount furniture people crap on CL now. And what makes me sad is that if you filter out to just the "by owner" sites, it also filters out the cute little Mom & Pop consignment shops.

I've noticed this as well. CL isn't as great as it used to be. I joined several garage sale groups on FB and those seem to have better deals than CL.

I also do "by owner". Also, use CraigsEasy if you don't already...it's a button you put in your toolbar. You press it after your Craigslist search and it only shows you all the pictures. You can quickly scan through and only click on the ads for the stuff you like from the pictures.

CL has several view options now, you can just click gallery to see the same thing.

Try Goodwill. May surprise you. I got a large Thomasville dresser for 50 bucks from there in great condition that I am currently sanding.
