This might be a stretch but I am popping in from GP to see if anyone has a rec for an RE in the Boston area. My OB is out of Newton-Wellesley and they referred DH to IVF New England for his SA. We haven't met with the docs at IVF New England yet, we are waiting on his repeat SA to see if the second one is abnormal as well, but the letter they sent with his first abnormal result was a little alarmist and turned me off to their practice.
Does anyone have any experience with this practice or recommend another one in the area? Thanks!
I am in the Boston area and we love our RE. She is Rachel Ashby and she is in the Partners group. My wife does all monitoring and visits with her at NWH and all procedures are done at The Brigham. The staff is very responsive and helpful. We have had minimal wait times. Dr Ashby has gone out of her way to be supportive to us during the process. After a difficult transfer with another dr in the practice she arranged to do our next transfer even though she was not in the or that day. She unfortunately performed our d&e last week and was so kind to us, she has wonderful bedside manner. Another tttcer starburst also has her as her re and she loves her as well.
ssg73 Thank you so much for the recommendation. It is great to hear that she has a friendly staff and a good bedside manner - these things are so important!! I am also very sorry to hear about your DW needing to have a d&e last week:(

Yes I saw Dr. Ashby as well. We both loved her from the first meeting. I was actually sad that I didn't get to see her anymore after she discharged me to a regular OB. She's very proactive and we felt like we were in great hands. It doesn't hurt that I had a great outcome with her so she's extra special to me
It did take me a couple of months to get an appointment with her, so if you're thinking of going in that direction book with her soon.
ETA: she was recommended to me by my H's cousin who had her daughter through IVF with her. She's very well liked!
I'm new to the area but I have a consultation at IVF NE next week. The RE was recommended by a friend who had twins through IVF. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thank you for the rec! I am meeting with my OB this week and then will likely call Ashby for an appt. Will see how long the wait for one is.

Good luck! Are you going to the practice in Lexington? It's good to hear that they had success with your friend. Thank you!

Thanks! I'm excited but also nervous about getting back into treatment.Yes, I'm going to Lexington (Dr. Glat.).
The good and the bad of the Boston area is that you can pretty much throw and rock in any direction and hit a fairly reputable RE practice. It does mean that it is harder to make a choice of were to go and who to see.

This is very true! I was glad I had a recommendation because everyone sounded good. I really valued bedside manner in an RE because it can be such a roller coaster. I'm just meh about my OB. I trust that she knows what she's doing but I wouldn't mind if she's not on call when I deliver tbh.
It is definitely a good problem to have that we have so many options near Boston. I am glad I can get some recs from you ladies.
starburst604 is your OB also at NWH? I really like my ob she is right in NWH, she has been great and really proactive. Maybe she is in the same call group and will deliver your baby, lol.
I am happy to see so many other Boston ladies here, I might be popping in more so its good to see some locals! Thanks everyone for the advice!

No I'm with the group out at Patriot Place (they also have an office out of Chestnut Hill) and they deliver at the Brigham. I'll meet with all the OBs in that group at my various prenatal appointments, so maybe I'll meet another I really like and just make them my main OB. She's not horrible but I don't have warm fuzzies about her lol.
