I am still craving a change with my hair, so next week, instead of getting my usual heavy highlight, I am going to do all over blonde. BUT, I am nervous I am going to look like a stripper with over processed hair lol.
I have light hair naturally, so I am not worried about regrowth, and according to my hair girl, the maintenance will be cheaper than the heavy highlights I get every 8 weeks and the smudging I get at week 4.
Here is a picture of my hair now... (picture was taken over the weekend. 8 weeks ago I got a heavy highlight and had lowlights added thinking that little bit of change would appease me)
I am kind of thinking this...
Yes? No? Or any other suggestions on a lighter ashy all over blonde color?
I love it the way it is. I understand wanting a change though and you could definitely pull off the lighter look. The woman in the picture and you kind of look a like!
on one hand, i love your hair now, its a beautiful blonde and i think the blending of high/low lights really adds depth. on the other hand you could absolutely pull off the full blonde, and you can always change it back if you dont like it. so i say go for it!
Do it! I have done blonde highlights for 15 years, and went full platinum bleach about two years ago. I loved the change, and the all-over blondness. I was totally channeling my inner Gwen Stefani and I loved it.
My eyebrows were light enough to pull it off, but my natural hair color is a dishwater blonde so I was definitely due for a touch up every 7 weeks or so. Highlights do last "longer" in that I think the regrowth is camouflaged more.
Ultimately, after a year and a half I gave up the bleach so my hair could "rest" because it did get a bit fried. I do plan on bleaching again in the future though.
Communicate to your stylist that you want a pretty shade, and don't want to look like a stripper. She should be able to help you get a good color, and I also found a purple Wella shampoo once a week and Pureology the rest of the time really helped me.
Maybe i'm blind but from IG and your OOTD pics I always thought you were light blonde all over. lol Like in the pics you posted, I guess I didn't realize it was just a heavy highlight. So my two cents would be that it wouldn't be a huge drastic change and therefore, go for it
I get heavy foils and I can't ever get my hair that blonde! I just assumed you always got an all over color. I think with your coloring you could really pull off a an all over blonde look but agree with the suggestion that it looks a little classier with a shorter cut for some reason.
