I have been sick for the last couple of weeks and running myself ragged. Last night I told DH we were doing whatever we each wanted for dinner so I had a bowl of cereal and went to bed at 8:20. I read for 25 minutes and lights were out at 8:45. I just woke up at 5:45 after, I think, not moving last night. 9 full hours of uninterrupted sleep! I feel glorious!
I can't tell you the last time this has happened. I usually get up once per night to go to the bathroom and always wake up at 4:40 when DH's alarm goes off. Apparently I needed the rest!
I have a plugged duct under my left boob. I cannot get it loose. Its been like this since yesterday morning. I took a hot shower and used my manual pump which usually does it. I keep massaging and nothing. I'm gonna do another hot shower after next feeding and hopefully pumping after that helps. I hate these and get them often. I'm thisclose to renting a hospital grade pump. I never got them when my babies were in the NICU.
Made it to the airport and through security alone with Jack with no issues! I think I deserve a medal for being able to get my shoes on and off while wearing Jack.
Somehow whenever my parents are here or I'm at their house bottles go missing. I'm currently missing 3 dr Browns and one ventaire. I would love to know where they are going.
J goes to daycare today so I'm going to golf with my dad. I haven't golfed with him in so long. Hopefully I don't beat him too badly

Also, curb side checkin is a wonderful thing.
Go, you! When we flew with DS at 14 months, I wore him in the Tula on my front. DH had to untie my shoes, then put them back on for me. I felt pregnant again, lol.

Have you tried taking lecithin? I know some have found it helped prevent plugged ducts.
ETA - when I had a particularly stubborn clog I tried using an electric toothbrush over the area. It did finally clear. No clue if this helped but it's worth a try! Hope it clears soon.

I've got an hour to get the three of us out the door. DS1 is still sleeping, DS2 is nursing and I'm in my PJs still.... Thankfully it's for preschool and drs for DS2, so we don't have to look our best. Lol
linz, dangle feeding helped me with several plugged ducts. I laid him on the bed and basically got on all fours over him and nursed him. Not pretty, but they usually cleared up after that.
H and I joined a gym last week and I've gone every day this week. Surprisingly, N loooooves the child care there. But he woke up really early this morning and I'm dragging and don't want to go. I need to create some sort of reward system for myself (that doesn't involve food) to keep me going.
I also dreamed last night that I was on vacation somewhere and had to pay extra to ride in a spider free taxi. So weird.

Spoon feeding is the worrrrst. I usually give him food and he feeds himself while I have coffee. Thanks to antibiotics + teething, he is having some tummy issues and I gave him applesauce for breakfast. Ugh. So much more effort on my part.
I dropped James on his head this morning. I felt so bad. He was crawling away from me so I grabbed him and I had too much in my hands and he went down on the back of his head. Luckily it wasn't too far.
He slept like crap last night though. Was up screaming at 9, 10 and 11 so we brought him to bed with us. He woke up at 4:30 super happy and was crawling all over us so I put him back in his crib, where he slept for 30 minutes and then screamed for 2 hours. I nursed him but still screaming. H gave him two 4 oz bottles but he was still screaming. So I brought him in the shower with me, thinking the hot water would help, but it just pissed him off more. Good luck daycare! Can I just leave him there all night too?
I've been in a funk the last few days and I think I'm starting to come out of it. Thursday is our day without any obligations so I think after the baby takes his morning nap, we'll try and meet up with my little brother. He's in college and on break and we haven't seen him in a while.
I have just a bit of shopping I need to finish up, mainly picking up a few gift cards to this restaurant/winery across town so I'm going to try and really get it done today.
And Christmas cookies! Gah I haven't made a damn thing yet and I think the kids will legitimately enjoy it this year so I want to get cracking. I bought all the stuff at target yesterday, no more excuses.
Oh, and the Christmas cards and doneditty DONE. Dropping them off at the PO when we leave the house.
I have a cold. If one more person comes in and asks me if I'm sick, I might strangle them. I'm stuffy and have an occasional cough. And no, I'm not going home. I'm not that sick.
I'm having a week where I'm just failing at everything. DS is sick. I'm sick. Work is insanely busy. We can't figure out what's triggering DS's sudden wheezing & coughing. Allergies? Asthma?
We took the Christmas tree out of the house at 9:00 last night, hoping we see improvement. We've already been to the pedi twice this week and need to follow up again tomorrow. He's has two prescriptions, two inhalers & a nebulizer at home. DS hasn't shown any improvement. I feel like I should be home with him, but work. I stayed home on Monday even though time off this close to year end is a big no-no. I've been late coming in every day that I've been here and have had to leave early Tue & Wed so far.
And I'm in the process of working on a promotion that's been long overdue, but this week probably isn't going to help my case the next time I follow up with my boss.
Also, I've been up since 4:30 giving DS a breathing treatment. Anyone have some Baileys for my coffee?
I'm very bitter that tomorrow isn't our last day of school before winter break. The neighboring districts (including the one I live in) all get 2 weeks for winter break so tomorrow is their last day of school. Not mine! We go Monday and Tuesday which is bull because I can guarantee you at the elementary level there won't be much learning going on. Ugh.
I'm wearing a peplum top today for the first time. I still can't decide if it looks good or makes me look fatter.
I have to do a briefing this morning to my 3rd line boss. I am basically briefing that because of him and his staff this whole project is behind. I don't anticipate this going well at all. How do you tell your boss that they suck and are the reason everything is behind?

I cannot, for the life of me, get R to feed himself. I break food up into chunks and leave it in front of him. Nope. He'll happily move it around and play and talk to it, but not a bite makes it into his mouth. He LOVES eating though. He sits there like a bird begging me to drop another piece in.

lol. I can't get L to NOT feed himself. He has some like food-radar and instantly knows if something is food or not. If it is, in it goes. Plus he notices now if we eat and he isn't and stares at us until he gets some too. So long snacks
I don't know if it would work, or if it's stupid, but when we adopted my cat he couldn't figure out that the bowl of food in front of him was for him to eat. The cat was watching H eat, so H pretended to eat the cat food (LOL) and it for some reason clicked in the cat's head that the bowl of kibble was for eating. Maybe eat HIS food/demonstrate? I don't know.. haha.

I gave DD her applesauce in our reusable pouch today. I just can't do spoon feeding.

We're here. So sad. He's like a puppy scrounging for crumbs! And he's also starting to realize when our meal looks different than his meal and then points to our plate indicating he wants the real stuff.
For the most part, we have the same foods, but his looks different because it's cut up or I've left off a sauce because it's spicy. He will hear none of that, must have adult food!
DD3, 2.5, insisted on getting herself completely dressed today. It was cute (at least I found it cute, DH wasn't too amused because well, she's 2.5 and she was taking longer than he wanted). When she was done, with a little help, she was so excited, "Daddy, look, I change myself!" I'm headed out though to pick her up from daycare for a dr's appt. She's had a cold for 2 weeks now and it seems to have travelled to her chest and she has a deeper though productive cough. We're headed to CT for Christmas and I just don't want her to end up with bronchitis
The girls woke up at 5 am and wanted cheese. Weirdos.
I got them to go back to bed and they woke up around 7. I let them play in their room for a while and C started shouting "mommy up" she is a demanding little thing.

We go through the same thing, but just tell them that it's only for us because it's spicy. And we get around the issue by giving them ketchup or pasta sauce for their meal instead. So long as there's sauce, they're happy.
I bought a gift for DH from target.com and did the in-store pickup. They said they would email me a receipt, which I never got.
The next day Amazon had it as the deal of the day, and it was ~$12 cheaper, so I bought it. Now I'm hoping I don't have issues returning the Target one. I have my email confirmation of the purchase/pickup, but no actual receipt. And Target sucks so bad for returns. Fingers crossed.
Was it red card? I know they can search it that way and you don't need a receipt. Maybe other cards too I don't know.
spk926 SS's district has school on Monday/Tuesday too. It's so stupid. Just give the kids two full weeks already!
C was running full speed ahead in the living room last night and he caught the edge of my foot, barreling face first into the side of our Ikea cube cabinet. He cried for a brief moment and then went on his merry way, but holy crap does he have a full line of red/black/blue up and down his face today, all the way from his forehead to the bottom of his cheek.
DH will be starting a new job in late January and I'm already freaking out about healthcare options because we don't know what the benefits are at his new job. Our insurance now is a high deductible plan and I hate it, especially now with kids. DS2's overnight stay in obs at the hosp was $4000 before insurance. WTF. It was obs. NOTHING was done. How does it cost that much?! I'm hoping the new job has better insurance but if not? IDK. DH is already taking a paycut for this job. Ugh. Stress.
