The gas station attendant tried to shame me out of getting full service this morning. It is cold and snowing, my kids are cranky and I'm not quite sure how my gas tank opens. Just fill up my tank without a lecture on how much more expensive it is.
Isn't he talking himself out of a job? I wish we had full service around here.
That's what I would think but maybe it was too cold and snowy for him too.
Usually I make DH fill my tank and only use full service when I absolutely have to.
Our friends bought L gifts for Christmas and I'm annoyed that we have to reciprocate. I'm really hoping this isn't a yearly occurrence. #worldsbiggestgrinch
DH got a bunch of stock for a Christmas bonus, along with a check. It's a bit disappointing that over 2/3rds of the bonus check was taken out for taxes (mostly because of the stock).
You can usually set up stock grants to "sell to cover". So, they will sell 28% or 30% or 33% or whatever of the stock grant and withhold the proceeds for taxes. Just make sure that the brokerage/H's employer reports the cost basis correctly.
Private stock & I think they specially gave that big of a bonus in order to cover taxes. But hopefully we'll get something of a return when we file in April.
I love Subaru Outbacks - but only until 2009 when in my opinion they ruined it by making it look like an SUV. It doesn't look like a wagon anymore. At all. It's just a long slighter less tall than average SUV. So I still miss our 2002 Outback that got totaled but I know that we'll probably never own another one because I can't stand the new ones. We even have a saved search on craigslist watching for used ones, but we just can't justify owning a 3rd car and although I loved my Subaru, it's not actually really any better than our Mazda5. So I guess my FWP is that I hate how almost no one makes true wagons anymore.
kershnic NJ drivers roll up to an out-of-state gas station and sit there. My friend has done this more than once until someone finally tells her "um you have to pump your own gas here."
My FWP is that I felt the birthday gift box my husband gave me yesterday and thought it was the right shape and size for a black purse I have been asking for 2 years now. Instead I opened the box and found brown boots which I only mentioned this fall. Have to admit, I was a little disappointed. I really wanted a black purse.
DD1's teacher sent home personalized invites to their class Christmas party tomorrow. I'm glad that she's thoughtful enough to invite parents and all, but that's literally my last hour of freedom for 2 weeks! I'm going, but only because I was the only mom who skipped the pumpkin patch.

That's why I like it now.
See, I think DH and I are two of the very few people in the US who hate SUVs. We don't like the way they look, they're big and tall and in the way (blocking view), they are bigger than they need to be (for most people's uses). I guess we're wagon loving snobs.

You can add dh and me to your club. Though I do have a 2012 outback, I like the old style! Dh had a Saab wagon until the summer. We love wagons:)
That's crazy! I ordered mine last Friday, shipped out the next day, and arrived today! I'd call...
Believe me, I've tried. Their number is constantly busy. Probably thousbands of ticked off Groupon buyers who want their money back.
I'm asking for a refund at this point. It's December 19th, I ordered on the 7th and they were shipped on the 8th. #$*&!@#")(*&%@!(#&
I had called last Friday for help with my order and there was an automatic reply to EMAIL them. Frustrating, to say the least! I had a question that needed to be answered on the spot before I placed my order! Luckily someone I knew who'd used Zazzle before was able to help me and walked me through it. They turned out fine though.
I would definitely ask for a refund if I were you at this point!
