LOL. I already called the store and they can't do anything, but you can still accuse me of shadiness if you wish.
I ordered the scalloped red felt tree skirt from Target.com for store pickup, because every time I went to the store it was out of stock, even though the site said it was in stock. I picked it up on Wednesday evening from customer service. They complete the transaction there, on an iPad (is that typical?). The connection was poor and it took a long time to go through, but it finally did and the CS manager handed me the item and said, "OK, it went through, you're good to go!" Cool.
Well, this morning I had a Target email saying I need to pick up my order by tonight. Um, I did? Logged in to Target.com, and sure enough it's still in "ready for pickup" stage. Logged in to my RedCard account, and there are no recent charges except the pending one for the store pickup. Called CS, and they have no record of me actually picking up the item. Called store and they can't do anything, and "it sounds like you get a free tree skirt."
So I stole a $5 tree skirt from Target. Actually, $4.75 since I was using my RedCard.
I wouldn't worry about this, you tried to correct it.
I'm not, and I wasn't going to put too much effort in. LOL. I just thought it was funny given the blow-up earlier this week. @mx and I should get together; she has the tree, I have the tree skirt.

I'm sorry, but you know they could apprehend you and enforce a lifetime ban because of this, right?? You should march back there and demand to give them their $4.75.
I find the store-pick-up iPad system sketchy, but it saves me money (b/c I pay online prices vs. inflated HI prices).
Oh, yeah that would make a huge difference. I did it a few times when I worked downtown and would go to City Target, because their prices on some things were 20-25% higher than online. Grr.
I just did an in-store pickup and they used the ipad. I had to return the item yesterday and I'm not seeing a credit--even pending--on my card yet. Hmm. My CC closes soon and I'll be annoyed if I don't get it before then.
It's a really weird system, but I know it's because their POS systems are pretty archaic and can't actually access the Internets. But yeah, a huge chain relying on wifi to complete transactions is... interesting.
Their "pick up in store" system is seriously flawed. Similar thing happened to me, when I picked up 3 of the same item and they only "sold" me one. I both emailed and went back to the store and only ever managed to get them to charge me for 2 bottles of lotion, rather than 3.
Are you Catholic? If so, at least you have something discuss in confession.
If not, you're damned either way.
LOL. I kid. I kid.
Target has done this to me with a crib skirt and diapers. I've tried to fix it. They don't want my money. I call it even for the other $35.00 they get in random crap they sucker me into every other week or so.

Ha their own fault. Target has awesome stuff but that company is so sucky in too many ways.
I also was trying to find that damn tree skirt which would always show in stock at the stores and then not be there. Also wasn't available for pick up so I gave up.

Same thing happened to me and they cancelled the order even though I picked the $5 tights up.I called and they were like uuuuuhhhhh.....don't worry. And that was it.

LOL. This was the third or fourth time I attempted a pick-up order for it, and the other ones were canceled. I decided to try it just one more time, and it was the time they actually had it. And FOR FREE.
