There was some weirdness going on with the water company and service at my old house. Long story short they called my realtor and were told they they are no longer listing my house.
So.. yeah.. nobody has been trying to sell my house for god knows how long. Lovely.

alabasterangel That's ridiculous! Thank goodness for the water company. I would be on the phone straightaway with the realtor.
I came down with a sore throat Monday, and by Tuesday afternoon I could barely talk. I have strep. Wicked. Started antibiotics on Wednesday and now am annoyed because, while my throat is feeling a lot better, I still sound like Marge Simpson's sisters. This also meant I had to cancel my Friendsmas with my best friend! Bright side though, I can't taste anything so I have not been indulging in the Christmas goodies!

I had my office party last night (About 25 of us). The owner of the company was giving a speech and said, "I'd like to read this email from G. G works in my dept and is a little fragile, we'll say. His wife passed away from a long struggle with lung cancer and he's, umm, temperamental at times. But he really is nice and we get along very well.
Anyway, G started rocking, shaking his head, saying no and muttering under his breath. He clearly did not want the owner to read the email out loud. It was difficult to watch. I couldn't take it. I interrupted owner's speech. I raised my han, said excuse me, looked at G and said, "Are you OK if he continues?" G said, "Um, well, IDK, whatever, but I'm going outside." He got up and walked away.
Owner continued. It was a sweet email and he was complimenting those he works with closely. Myself included. But a couple of people (one in particular) were left out. It was awkward and will probably create a bit of a shit storm, come Monday.
I then apologized to owner after and he said it was OK. I hope I didn't ruin is impression of me. But, my boss said she was glad I said something, as did several others. I was also thanked by G.
