DH is a little miffed that I'm not over the moon about the kid's foot measuring device he got me for Christmas. He is insisting that he only got it because I really wanted it and that he never thought we needed one!
It was delivered yesterday. I think he's buying me a pair of boots for Christmas, too, out of guilt.
I did look into buying one when the only two Stride Rites in our area were sold and closed. I decided not to when I saw how much they were and the SR opened with new owners. In his mind, this means I've been pining for one for 2-3 years? Apparently, I also grumble about going to the shoe store for DS1 because they never have any XW soes for him, so we just get his foot measured and buy online. Now we can cut out the middleman.

This totally sounds like something my DH would do. He's the king of giving me very thoughtful but just horrible gifts. Every year. At least you know he was listening?!? . Enjoy the boots.

He really did buy it because he thought I really wanted one, so it comes from a good place. I feel a little bad about making fun of him on here and IRL. He is often a thoughtful gift-giver.
pierogigirl I was putting on DS's shoes this morning which reminded me of your story. I told DH your story, and he was like :-| "WTF. That's a terrible gift."
