Some thoughts on The Holiday

1) l LOVE both houses. The charming coziness of the cottage and the simple beauty of the LA house.

2) It is a little painful to watch Cameron Diaz in this movie, her acting is just so over the top. I don't know, it makes me feel like I am watching some amateur in a high school acting gig.

I love the movie for Jude Law. Mmm.

100% agree on the second point. The last time I watched it, I asked H if Cameron Diaz was always a horrible actress or if she was supposed to be this weird and awkward for this particular role.

I like this movie, but Cameron Diaz is as painful to watch as always. I mainly watch for Kate Winslet and Jack Black. It's the only time I've ever found him attractive.

Exactly this. I was coming in to say how charming Jack Black is in this movie. Really, I love everyone...except Cameron Diaz. She is...not good.

Cameron Diaz is absolutely terrible in this movie. I cringe every time she tries to cry. It's embarrassing.

I love The Holiday. I was just thinking the other day I need to watch it again soon. I think I would pick the english cottage, but yeah, they are both great houses. Love Kate winslet and jack black.

I don't care that Jude Law is a total sleazebag. He is charming!

And I can't even watch Cameron Diaz anymore. In anything. She was on one of the late night talk shows doing the Annie publicity tour and she was over-the-top even in her interviews.  All over the chair, smacking the host on the arm in "hilarious" responses, just everywhere.  It was painful to watch and to listen to.  So I stopped watching.  I'm sure she's as horrible and over-the-top in Annie as she was in the interview, and it that thought doesn't make me want to spend the money to watch it, no matter how cute the rest of it might be.

Cameron is horrible, but I've kind of come to accept her terrible acting as overall movie charm. LOL.
