G just woke up and had to pee. I heard her crying and knocking on her door calling for me but couldn't get to her fast enough since I had to extract myself from A (DH is supposed to respond to her MOTN...not sure why he was so slow). She had an accident on the floor by her door and was upset about it.
How do you deal with nighttime pottying in your house? We have been leaving her door closed due to noise but she can't consistently open it herself. If she could, she can't quite climb up on the toilet alone with her pants down. There's not a good place in that bathroom for a floor potty without blocking the toilet. It seems so complicated. MOOKs? Anyone?
I don't know - we just go to him at night. Sometimes we make it, sometimes we don't. I just let him know it's not his fault and that he did a great job trying.
We are in a similar spot, where with the way our house is set up we have to keep her door shut and she can't yet open it. And sometimes we aren't fast enough, or she doesn't wake up fast enough and is then upset to be wet. We are working on learning to open the door. We have a trainer seat on our toilet and she has a lightweight but sturdy plastic stool that we leave in front of the toilet for her right now. We taught her to step up, then pull down and to pull up before stepping down afterward. Hopefully both she and G will be able to conquer those doors soon. It sucks when they're so upset.

I would put a little potty in her room until she can consistently open the door.
Definitely leave bedroom doors shut at night in case there is a fire. Having the door shut can give them up to an extra half hour for firefighters to get them. We just had that talk from a Fire Marshall this month.
We try and make sure that drinks stop 2 hours before bed. She pees after dinner and then we make sure she goes before bed. We have a monitor, so if she has to go she calls and I meet her in there. We don't have a ton of room, but we do the little potty. A uses a stool and potty seat downstairs though and can get up there by herself. So maybe that's an option. We just got rid of nighttime pull-ups (which was my crutch, not hers, since she's never peed in them) so I worry more about this now.
Thanks everyone. I didn't end up doing anything differently tonight since I'm still deciding -- last night was the first MOTN pee in several months so I'm hoping it was a fluke. I'm debating a little potty in her room but I keep hoping she will figure out opening the door any day now. We definitely need a few more night lights.
I am in denial that I'll ever have to deal with this.

Again, a thing we've never had to deal with. Edie just wore pull ups forever. I knew it was normal to pee at night until MUCH older so I just never gave it a second thought and let it happen on it's own. We've only ever had one nighttime pee clean up and it was 2 weeks ago.
