Evenflo Sureride: what am I doing wrong?

I used to recommend this seat and love it! For about two months, every time I use it, every single time, the straps get twisted in the buckle and I can't get it to loosen or tighten, so I just have to leave it so tight I can't get him in or out very easily. We have a triumph in the car I typically drive, but I like to drive the car with the sure ride better, except I dread that car seat. Any tips? Thanks!

I do a combination of loosening them a lot when I take them out (so the buckle tongs don't catch on their clothes and twist), draping the loose straps over the side, and sliding the buckles up towards the chest clip (so they are out of the way). To untwist the straps quickly, I do this - lifehacker.com/quickly-untwist-car-seat-straps-with-this-triangle-tri-1464392124 (Car Seat Lady video). It takes 15-30 seconds.

Yep, harness straps. Will these tricks also make it loosen and tighten easily? I cannot figure out if I'm supposed to do something with the straps in the back to make them easier to manipulate.

Have you tried uninstalling he car seat and checking in the back to be sure nothing is twisted?

My straps don't twist but they were getting stuck on something. I called my car seat manufacturer and they were able to quickly tell me the issue and stayed on the line while I fixed it. It was a simple fix.

I will try that. Now that you say that, I'm thinking maybe this maddening twisting has been happening since the last time we put it in my parents car then back in ours. Good idea!
