DS2 screams every time we put him in his bucket seat. I feel like I have tried just about everything to calm him down (hotter, colder, loud music, white noise, no noise, windows cracked...) He sleeps in a RNP and does fine in a swing so it shouldn't be the position. The only other thing I can think of is that the straps are uncomfortable. He is 8 weeks and 15 pounds, so he is huge and the straps kind of dig in. There is nothing I can do about this is there? Help!
Are the straps positioned correctly? Are you using the little pads that wrap around the straps? (The ones that come with the car seat, not the ones in the store.) I always make sure to pull the boys' shirts closer to their neck so that the strap is touching their shirt, not the skin on their neck. It shouldn't be his size...the car seat fits up to at least 22 lbs, and most much heavier.

My din just doesn't like being strapped in. I have a toy on his carseat that plays music, which he really likes. I'll also give him a pacifier. It only helps sometimes. Also I know in my Chicco keyfit, you take the cushion out after 12 lbs. It makes the seat a little more roomy.
