I wrapped family presents that DS could be around for. We are watching movies (Jingle all the Way and now The Sound of Music) while eating leftover pizza (DS had a more legit dinner).
We went to a friend's apartment for an annual holiday celebration. Pre-kids we would always have taken public transportation, but we risked driving with them. We got a magical free street parking spot right in front of her building!! And then we had with us travel highchairs and travel tents and the babies managed to actually eat a meal and take a nap while we were out. It was kind of amazing to talk to our friends with no babies on us for almost an hour and a half.
Today was DS's first birthday! Started off iffy when we lost heat last night and the house got to 57 degrees. We were up every 2 hours because DS was cold, but also didn't want to cuddle with us, then all of our alarm sensors had low battery warnings. Luckily, ILs brought a space heater and by some small miracle the technician from the gas company was able to come today and fix the heat (for no cost since we have a service plan).
Anyways, the party went so well! Everything turned out great and the birthday boy had a great time playing with his cousins and eating his first cake.
Taking a break from cleaning and watching football. We had a bunch of friends over to watch the Ravens lose horribly but it was a blast to have everyone over, including 8 kids age 3 or younger. But toooons of clean up that we need to get back to before we go to bed.
I'm taking a break from gift wrapping to GBCN. So far, AJ's three gifts that come in boxes are wrapped and I am reminded what a shitty wrapper I am. Dear god.
ETA: Georgie has decided to be super precious and snuggle her head up against my leg. this may spell the end of my gift wrapping endeavours for the night.
H ventured out with both SS and C tonight to shop for me. Right before he left he says, "So, what do you want? You haven't really said." Sigh.
But while I had the house to myself I watched old episodes of 90210 and got almost all of the gifts wrapped. I swear I've somehow gotten worst at wrapping over the years.
I want to take up crochet. Or knitting? I dunno. I learned to knit as a kid but only ever made lumpy squares.
I've been working on crocheting a stocking for DD. It's the first time I've crocheted since I was a little kid, when I would do it all the time with my grandma.
When I first started it, I started getting grand delusions about making more to sell on Etsy. I started DD's stocking in mid November; I'm not even half done. I'm pretty sure I'd have to sell them for roughly $2,815 for the amount of time I'm putting into this thing. They should sell easily for that price, right?
(Even though it's taking forever, I am really enjoying doing it. I'll probably even start stockings for me and H when I'm done with DD's - after I take a break to let my arm rest)

I'm pretty sure for Christmas DD is getting her very first ear infection. So much for that 1.5 week streak of STTN she's been on. Ah, well, it was fun while it lasted.
I should be wrapping gifts but I have lost all motivation. That post on ML yesterday with the 36 pregnant person who already had twins doing more in 12 hours than I do in most weeks makes me feel even more guilty about my sloth, lol
I was thinking of that post today. I watched one "easy" toddler, went grocery shopping, cleaned one bathroom, wrapped 11 presents, made chilli in the Crockpot and baked four dozen cookies today and I feel like I've been beat up.
I made chocolate chip cookies today with DS2 in the moby. I was so proud of myself LOL. And DS1 helped me make Oreo balls but I need to dip them in the chocolate tomorrow.
Doing simple stuff like that makes me feel so much more human.
I have been doing tons of baking with DS2 in the Moby! I think it is my favorite thing to do right now because he sleeps all cozy and I actually feel productive.
If I take antibiotics and probiotics at the same time, do they cancel each other out? #deepthoughts
I started taking them at least 2 hours apart because I was convinced the antibiotics were killing all the probiotics in my stomach. I have no idea what actually happens...
It's my parents 40th wedding anniversary! I would send them flowers or something, but they're coming up here Tuesday to spend Christmas with us. Its so interesting to observe your parents marriage as an adult. They've gone through some SHIT in the last decade and at times I thought they'd split. I'm quite certain that they stuck it out through sheer stubbornness and perseverance. I'm proud of them.

I spent about half the day lying on the couch and the other half running around the house getting shit done. All the presents in the house are wrapped (a few still have to arrive), DS and I built a robot (he got a kit for his bday), and the kids and I painted some ornaments for the tree.
I have an OB appt tomorrow to try to get an idea if traveling on Chrisfmas is reasonable. FIL called yesterday to tell us we need to let him know ASAP tomorrow afternoon if we're not coming to the extended family gtg, as he will skip his flight and stay home if we don't go. Okay...if he only really wanted to see us he should have flown here instead of 4 hrs from us and on the assumption of me being able to drive that far at almost 38 weeks. But I pointed that out several months ago.
We've had a busy weekend, yet I've barely left the house. Lots of decluttering the basement to free up space for a better play space.
The plan is to spend Christmas Eve at my mom and stepdad's house and sleep over, so I ordered a Regalo My Cot for E to use over there. It came today and he was so excited about it. Cue talking about wanting to sleep on it for bedtime annnnnd... we are now going to try a "big kid bed" tonight. I am pretty freaked out about it, but I can't tell if that's because I don't think he can handle it or if it's that I am not quite ready to be done with that bit of babyhood. We'll see how it goes.
I got so much done today I love it! Church, nap, grocery shopped, cleaned the house, did 4 loads of laundry, cleaned the guest bedroom so it's finally useable, finished wrapping all Christmas gift and DD's birthday gifts and other little stuff I can't even remember. I'm still bitter I have to work on Monday and Tuesday. Even parents are asking me why we have school. Ugh!
DH wants to put A's kitchen together already and just throw a sheet over it. I want him to wait.
Is it going to take 8 years and make him really irritated if I "make" him wait until Christmas Eve?
What brand? We have the large Kidkraft one, DH is extremely handy and it legit took him 4-5 hours. It's not hard (as in difficult), it's just time consuming with 1 million Little pieces that all have to be assembled in order. DH did it on the porch, in two "building sessions" of two hours each. I would NOT wait until Christmas Eve. Do it somewhere else and move it when you're done.

It's the red retro kidcraft one. I was really hoping it would be easy.
Just laying down with L. Been a busy day. Baked all morning and ran out auctions while doing it. Gearing up for a crazy week. Loving watching L open his gifts for Hanukkah though!
DH and I are watching football and enjoying a quiet house with both kids in bed.
DS ruined DH's big Christmas gift today. I bought him a 12 ft ladder so it wasn't anything exciting, but I had gone to all the trouble to get it into the garage, hidden by a car, and covered with blankets. DH then spent part of the afternoon trimming a tree with our old 6 ft ladder. When he finished he told me he couldn't reach anymore limbs with that ladder. DS finally pipes up with "Why don't you use the orange ladder in the garage?" DH said he didn't have an orange ladder in the garage at which point DS says, "Yes, you do, I'll show you." *sigh* Clearly he peeked under the blankets. I managed to pull DS aside to tell him to shut it but at that point it was too late.
