I just got a call from daycare that DD (14 months) has red puffy eyes, like she's got seasonal allergies. She has been snotty for quite a while, which could also be allergies I guess. But I had read somewhere that most kids don't develop seasonal allergies until they're 2 or 3. So I'm just wondering if anyone here has had experience with this? We're in Texas, and apparently the Austin area has some of the worst allergens around (I've noticed it a bit myself). I guess I'm just wondering if we should take her to the doctor and have her tested or something?
ETA: We don't think she's had any new foods today, so it's hopefully not a food allergy.
C has displayed symptoms of seasonal allergies since about that same age. Our pedi okayed Children's Zyrtec for him, and it does seem to help when allergens are high.
I wouldn't go out of your way to do testing at this point, but you may want to call and see if you can try that.
