I was 2-3 cm at my 36w appt with dd. Had some irregular contractions for 2 days before my next appt and went to my doc at 37.5w and was 7 (yes 7) cm dilated. Doc broke my water then and I had her 2.5hrs later.
I took my son to school that morning, chatted with a friend, had a cup of coffee, took my time getting ready. Had no clue I was 7 cm dilated.

I'll take that, please! Was that your first??
No my 2nd.
My first I was 3 cm at my 38week appt the doc swept my membranes and I was 6 cm and in labor an hour later. No contractions until she broke my water. Apparently I'm built for labor.
I felt like general crap the days I dilated w both. With c, it was 5 weeks early, went to 5 cm and felt like I could barely walk and felt like crap. Then I felt ok again after a day or 2. Same w j, but I was a little more beat and not as ok feeling in the weeks after. (We also had gone to disney then, it was 4 wks til end of pg. I think it was a combo of chasing older kid, constant walking, illnesses, etc that made that one feel crappier when dilated.
I CANNOT believe how close you are! I'm very excited for you. I miss chatting w you, but I'm not on a ton. I think of you a ton and have wondered how you guys are. I'm sure the holidays and upcoming birth have you excited and yet tinged with thoughts of your mom. (I hesitate to bring her up, but guessing she's there on your mind always)
Did you ever find out boy or girl? I keep feeling like its a boy but what do I know? Are the girls excited?
We're in Australia for a few months now, so I'm not on a lot.
I'm so happy to see (read?) your face! Thank you for thinking of me...and yup, lots of excitement, but mom's loss is always there. It's a girl! She'll be named after my mom ❤️ Australia?? So cool! Where?
Aww that's sweet. Your mom would/will love that. I'm sure she's still watching over you all.
About 3 hr drive south of Brisbane. Where the ILs and most of the relatives live.
