Looking for more ideas for healthy(healthier?) snacks.
So far all I snack on are clementines and skinnypop. The skinnypop I portion out into portion size baggies or else I'd eat the entire bag of popcorn in one sitting. When they are cheaper I also do grapes. Bananas I eat for half the week until they get too mushy.
Also, anyone know how to keep cut apples going brown? I have to cut them up due to my braces (and because of my teeth when the braces come off again). I'd like to cut things at home to save me time at work, if at all possible.
Lemon juice sprinkled on the apples will keep them from going brown.
I snack on nuts, granola, fruit (especially berries in the summer), sliced veggies like bell pepper, hummus. Lately I've been on a kick of Honey Nut Cheerios .
This might work for you. I keep a bag of frozen mixed fruit from Sam's club in the freezer. I can break off a chunk into a Tupperware container and take to work...or eat around the house that way. (I have those little Tupperware containers that hold 1-2 cups.) Good snack!

My snack choices are usually things like: -Nuts (cashews/almonds/etc.) -Trail mix from TJs -Chopped veggies with salsa, hummus, or guac -Larabars -Edamame (you can get indiv microwave portions) -Piece of 70%+ cocoa dark chocolate
If you are looking for purely low cal or low fat, those may not be your best options. But I find I feel more full and satisfied with some healthy fats in my snacks.
I cut my apple right before leaving for work. It doesn't get brown by the time I eat it usually. (eat with almond butter)
Yogurt and berries hummus and carrots/celery Picky Bars (spendy, but cheaper if you get the monthly club) - I now don't eat other bars (Cliff, Luna) because we do the Picky Club hard boiled egg half an avocado english muffin with almond butter
Hummus with veggies and crackers Cheese and crackers Veggies with dip Avocado with salt, pepper and hot sauce (or however you like it) Edamame (I second the microwave snack bags) Nuts or trail mix Peanut butter and crackers Apple with peanut butter English muffin or piece of toast with a little butter and smashed avocado Greek yogurt (flavored, or plain with honey and nuts, or fruit)
I snack at work a lot, but my snacks "should" include carbs, so I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for I usually bring a clementine or apple, those PB/cheese sandwich crackers, some Triscuit thin crisps (yum!), or a small bag of chips. I used to also bring yogurt but I've been steering clear of that lately.
If I'm at home and have it on hand, I like crackers with hummus, carrots, or cheese sticks.
In the last few days I have done really well with snacking, some of them include; cheese and crackers, cottage cheese with apples, bananas, oranges, carrots, almonds.
Ohh, yes, cottage cheese! I just eat it plain. I've tried it with a little salt and pepper and it's not bad that way. I don't like fruit with it, but I know a lot of people like pineapple in it. I also love bananas, but unfortunately both of these snacks aren't great for me anymore. Cottage cheese is probably ok as long as I avoid it in the morning (nutritionist said to avoid milk, yogurt, or anything sugary in the mornings. I believe her after I had a PB&J for breakfast and had a high reading. I can have the same exact thing for lunch and I'm totally fine!). But bananas are so starchy Oh well!
