We tried negotiating some of our bills. I have been meaning to for awhile based on posts here, and finally got around to it.

I found offers from other companies and used them to negotiate with our current providers.

Cable and internet was $165/month, got it down to $99/month plus a phone line for two years (supposed to be a 6 month new customer special)

Trash was $145/quarter, and we got it down to $69/quarter, guaranteed for 2 years with no more than a 3% increase per year after that

Also found out that we should be eligible for a 10% discount on our cell service based on DH's employer, and got them to backdate the discount 6 months (they wouldn't go back farther than that)

Your trash is so expensive! Yikes! I was just talking about this with my mom the other day and couldn't believe how cheap our trash is. Our other utilities are high but I had no idea people paid as much as you do for trash.

Yes,we contract with a company for trash service. Very few cities around here offer trash service
