I skipped the ottoman; it would have put my legs too high up while nursing. For the early days, I used a small footstool to raise my feet just a bit, but I stopped using that after a couple months.
When pregnant, I thought I wanted a glider that could recline. I was ambivalent about the ottoman. DH didn't care about the recline and wanted the ottoman. We bought a Best (brand) chair and love it.
In reality, once I actually used it, I never really use the recline feature (can't nurse well like that) and use the ottoman every single time. DH rarely uses the ottoman and loves the recline feature. Totally opposite! I think I would have used the recline more if I hadn't been nursing but because if I held her while she slept, it was typically because she was nursing, I just never reclined.
We both still love the chair at 2.5 years later and it looks and feels new. Very supportive and comfortable, it's a high quality piece of furniture.
ETA: If I were to buy again, I'd consider one of the better Dutaliers with an ottoman. Those recline without the leg pop-out. I have to scoot our ottoman a bit to be able to recline in our chair and I find it to be a pain, so that likely contributed to me using that feature much less than I anticipated.
I like the Best Chairs too, just wish I could order it directly without finding a store that carries them. That sounds silly but I want to sit in them just not deal with a furniture store... we just bought a bunch of furniture for our living room and I kind of just want this glider purchase to be easy
We got a glider/recliner that swivels as well. It's the Best Chairs Blain. We got it from BBB with a 20% off coupon. It was our big splurge for the nursery and we love it! It has nice quality cushions, has a tall back so I can sleep in it (I'm 6'), and it has a range of fabrics choices you can pick from. I'm not a big fan of the pillow back style chairs because they tend to sag in the middle over time. This chair has a foam back that will stay looking nice all the way through child #2.
ETA: I was going to get a leather pouf for an ottoman but never got around to it. I've found I prefer gliding without it. Also you can get the same chair at Babies R Us for a lower price but it only comes in a few fabric choices.
We just bought a Dutailier glider yesterday used off Craigslist. The ottoman that came with it glides, and has a little nursing stool that slides out to make a little ramp for feet to rest on. Granted, I haven't had the baby yet and don't know how much we'll use it, but we've both been sitting it in any chance we've gotten so far and it's really comfortable.
We have a Luca Glider...It's not super cozy but it's comfortable & aesthetically tolerable to very picky people like myself & DH. I use the ottoman all the time.

For dd we had the little castle buckingham, so comfy! We had a matching gliding ottoman I loved. At night you'll want something to prop your feet For this baby we are ordering the best chair Rena and I found s matching Pouf at homegoods
We got a Best Irvington glider recliner and also got a gliding ottoman (from Buy Buy Baby with 20% off coupon). I am glad we have both features. I recline and sleep in there occasionally, and sometimes I use the ottoman while rocking the baby. I do not use the ottoman while nursing.
It's the Best Chairs Blain. We got it from BBB with a 20% off coupon.
This is the same one we have! Ours is in a linen/burlap with white piping. Neutral for a boy or girl but I would have loved a girly fabric like yours! Very pretty.
Oh, and ours saw a ridiculous amount of vomit. Still looks new. I was worried about having a light chair but it's been a nonissue due to the type of fabric.
ETA: I agree about the cushions. We wanted something supportive that we could get up out of with a babe in arms, not something squishy to curl up in.

We got a Dutalier as well. NĂ´ ottoman and I never regretted it. I do have long legs so I don't know if someone with short legs would be more comfortable with an ottoman. We still use it to snuggle and read stories every day
We have the Newco "Sunny" reclining swivel rocker. Got it in 2010 for like $450 and it's now part of our family room as my favorite chair :-) Great investment. We got ours at BRU, but this is the first link I found:
I bought a leather recliner from Costco that we could repurpose later on. I ended up never nursing him in it and use it more now than I did the first 18 months of his life.
Same as redheads and foxinfiji, have a Best chairs Blain and love it! Tall back with great support (I'm 5'10 and my H is 6'2) and very comfy. We got ours from BRU using our completion coupon! Will try to take a pic later
All of upholstered gliders we were looking at were custom order. BBB told me to plan on it taking 14 weeks to come it but it actually took 8 weeks. Oh and we got the extra fabric protection plan BBB offers. It was another $45 (with another 20% coupon) and lasts for 3 years so I figured why not. For some reason the name of this chair on their website is messed up but here is the [urlhttp://www.besthf.com/best/Storytime/Recliners/items/5NP37SC]link.[/url] If you go under customize you can see all of the colors and patterns to pick from. But of course you'll want to see them in person at the store as well.
redheadk & ch14itmk the tan with white piping was one colors I was looking at getting. I really liked that color combo and the contrast piping.
Those that have the Best Chair Blain, did you have to order or is it in stock in a few colors?
I had to order it. We have one of the upgraded fabrics so it was a total special order through a furniture store. I think it took 8-10 weeks? Normal furniture store time, I remember. We ordered it around 21 weeks.
Yes to the recline. Yes to the ottoman. Both were important for us given the amount of time I spent sleeping in that thing when the boys were little and wouldn't sleep without being held. And the back on the glider needed to be high enough to support our heads when reclined.
