If I'm ljust not into it? I actually hate it and have no interest or desire to read it. I feel weird returning it but also would rather put my $20 towards a book I will read....
I'm not sure what the consensus will be, but if you haven't made any marks/damage/wear on the book then I say go for it. I've bought ebooks and after a few chapters not liked them and returned them to Amazon. (They give you seven days to do that.) As long as there is no damage, why should this be any different?
Where is it from? I would feel weird returning to a small indie store but fine to a big chain.
booknerd Does Amazon have a way to tell whether you read the book in those seven days? I can Iimagine people would pretend Amazon is their personal library if not -- read it, return it, check out something else..

Hmm that's a good question! I only read a few chapters when I returned them. Once I realized it was the wrong book, similar title (lol) and another time I was probably a third of the way through and couldn't stand it anymore.
Isn't this a risk we take on as the consumer? Knowing we may not like the book, how the clothing fits, how the food tastes, etc.? It's no fault of the store, publisher, or manufacturer if the item is without defect.
I think you should sell it as "mint condition" on Amazon, and pay for a new book out of pocket.

I think they can tell, if you have your kindle connected or have read it on a mobile/computer device. But even if not, I'm guessing it's just a courtesy and they would cut off people who were abusing it.
eh, i returned it, whether it was ethically right/wrong, who knows....I would also return a short or pants that i did not like
The book was actually Neil Patrick Harris' autobigraphy, it wasnt terrible, it just was NOT for me, at all. I need suspense, drama, murder, I do not like sarcastic humor and a few pages in i was annoyed
