I e-mailed a Rep for VA health insurance yesterday for my H. He hasn't responded yet, which I totally understand. Do you think if he hasn't responded by Thursday it would be appropriate to call or send another e-mail? Which would you do?
When this happens to me, I normally wait at least 48 hours (or longer - the amount of time depends on who I am trying to reach) and then forward the original message with a follow up message at the top so that they know for a fact that it is not my first time trying to contact them.
katespade Yes, I was definitely going to wait at least 48 hours. I like your idea of sending the first e-mail again with another memo at the top. Thanks!
I do the same thing at work if I don't hear back with forwarding the original email. The time frame depends on the issue and who I emailed. Sometimes it's same day, sometimes it's a couple weeks later. I think a few days is appropriate assuming it's not urgent.
