I ran 6 miles outside yesterday with a subzero windchill. I'm not sure if that's an AW or confession. I've really been dragging my feet on a gym membership and with the current windchill at -25 here, there's no way I'm getting in an ourdoor workout today.

My SIL and her DH bailed on my youngest's birthday, and they are bailing on my two oldest's birthday party (they have a party together since their birthdays are 4 days apart). I'm pissy about this, because we never miss any of their kids' parties. This year we might. I know it's stupid, but seriously. She doesn't even say happy birthday to them either.
Stories about ridiculous Boss Lady: A co-worker requested the equipment for a stand-up desk. You know, the gear that means you can modify the height of the work surface to stand or sit. She felt like it would help her posture, sitting is the new smoking, etc. Boss Lady said no, it's too expensive.
Boss Lady's gear to modify Boss Lady's desk to a standing desk was installed last week. She's currently standing at her desk and working while all of us down the plebes hallway sit in 10 year old office chairs.

Lead by example. Eh? (RAGE!)
Wow, that is insanely poor management.
Thank you for validating me, and my coworker, who is absolutely beside herself.

The worst part is that we all feel like there is nothing we can do except take her punches on the chin. We ALL have complaints/ potential grievances. We're all documenting our shitty interactions with her (she's sneaky and will only say awful things 1:1, never in front of a group). But we can't do a thing except hope she moves on soon. Of the 8 staff members in my hallway I know that 5 are applying for other jobs (myself included). It's so toxic. Bleck!
Here's another example: I was alerted about a great training offered by the local university in November. I immediately forwarded the info to my manager with an argument for taking the course. I poked again twice in December, since the training is 2 Monday and Thursdays in January (starting next week). I asked the University to hold a space for me (they kindly did). I asked so really so that I could arrange childcare (I'm usually home on Mondays with DD).
I poked again yeasredday because I still haven't recived a yes or no, and feel that it's unfair to ask the U to keep holding my spot. It's $150. I haven't been to a training in 3 years. I've never gone to an out of state training.

Giftgiving is not my love language. It's probably the opposite of my love language.
There are many generous, kind people in my life for whom this is their love language. I hate to say it, but I feel like a constant source of disappointment because giving a physical gifts is something that slips my mind frequently. I know that giving and receiving a physical gifts is how these wonderful people in my life feel special and loved, but damn I feel inadequate because it is not something that is on my radar,.
DH's firm is no longer covering our families Health Insurance Premiums. It's a result of the firm merging with a much larger firm last summer. It's OK because they gave him a raise that will more than cover it...but the end of the sweet perks is slowly taking over. Next up I think will be the automatic 401(k) contributions.

Holy shit. That is a horrible slap in the face. What a nut.
We had an event at work today. At the end, my coworker and I had to move some furniture back into place. The CEO saw us moving couches. He was shocked that we were all NBD about it. Brownie points!
I am really frustrated. My hematologist wrote a letter requesting that I fly in business or first class when traveling longer than 2 hours, because I am at extremely high risk of developing clots. I had a massive PE in 2013 and nearly died. I don't want to take the risk and develop a clot on a plane. I thought my request for Reasonable Accommodation was reasonable. LOL. Nope, they rejected it. They suggest sitting in an aisle seat and wearing compression socks. I don't travel much for work, but I don't want to fear for the worst when I do and am stuck in a tiny coach seat with no leg room. Ugh.

Is it really so hard to give a yes or no?
But if she just keeps putting it off, she never has to tell you no.
She does sound like a jerk.
I may not always be the best boss, but I'm not sneaky. That's exhausting. And if I tell my staff they can't have stuff, I definitely don't get it either. I feel like a parent giving them the first choice of stuff and taking the leftovers.

Today's MM sad: Sold the rest of my ESSP shares today (had sold half in the Fall to pay for the failed well attempt). The money will be going toward a good MM goal, but it's still sad to see a $0 balance.
Today's MM happy: Actually added up my different retirement accts and I've got 3.5x my salary--putting me ahead of most retirement planning measures. Although probably not as much as I *should* have given I hope to retire early.

Ours recently went to only 1 lump payment of their match--have to employed on that specific day or you get nothing. So there might be an extra step before they stop matching altogether *-)

Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

I had to have a cervical biopsy yesterday. It was one of the most painful things I've ever had done. Although that is probably due in part to the fact that I only have a cervical stump, and the doctor took three tissue samples instead of one. I'm still cramping. I'm more than a little nervous because of all the growths that had to be removed last year, even though the dermoid turned out to be benign and the rest turned out to be undiagnosed endometriosis, and because this was my second abnormal pap in the last 5 years. To top it off I started running a fever last night and I've been miserable today. I haven't told anyone about the biopsy until now. I don't want to panic anyone in my family. I don't need my mom getting all dramatic if it turns out there's no reason to be.

You know, I didn't read it super closely but I think the Planet Fitness membership is month to month. I'd check it out if I were you! It's actually pretty nice and when I was there this morning, there were only like 5 people in the whole place (I assume people don't know it is there yet?).
I don't know if running outside yesterday was an AW or a confession either - I think you're nuts! I don't even want to walk to my car in 20 minutes lol.
@wandering, I hope if you don't feel comfortable on ML anymore you come back to MM. I guess I'm making an assumption for everyone else, but we think you're awesome and welcome here regardless of who you're friends with.
I just went to the bathroom at work and I seem to have sprouted a two-inch CHIN HAIR in the last two hours. How does that happen?! Omg, how many people have seen it?! I will never go without tweezers in my purse ever again. And now I have to either stop home or go to a store to buy tweezers before dinner with my friend so I can pluck it. Stupid hair-growing hormones.
