Ok not really but he keeps leaving the iron on after he is done ironing his pants for work. I went to iron C's school clothes this morning and it was still plugged in from 3pm yesterday. Thank goodness for auto shut offs!!!

Opps!
I've almost burned down my house no less than 5 times last year with burnt pans and exploding dishes in the microwave. I am very embarassed by this, because I never.ever. use to be a hazard and I'm so cautious about everything.
My iron has an auto shut-off that beeps angrily before shutting off. It's really irritating.
Haha, my crock pot will auto-switch to warm when it's done and it gives this teeny tiny "beep" that I almost always miss. The other end of the extreme is no better.

aren't there like 85/15 blends or other W&W fabrics available for kids' uniforms? Don't tell me they're just pure, instawrinkle cotton? Can't you just throw them in the dryer for a couple minutes and then smooth them out by hand?
Also I think I could use the iron myself at P&P's age, HS! Not sure about the results, but...
The last time I ironed it was a shirt for my DS to wear to a wedding last fall. Otherwise I try to buy things that don't need ironing.
Anything I buy for myself doesn't need to be ironed.
However, DH's family is in love with buying me hand wash only stuff. I'm too cheap to buy my own clothes if someone will give them to me, so every month I begrugingly hand wash.

My kid leaves her freaking CHI plugged in all day from time to time. Once it was even sitting on a piece of paper. I am convinced she is going to burn the damn house down one of these days.

I'm fairly certain DH only know how to turn the oven on, but not off. One time I came home from work and the oven was on. It had been on for at least 4 hours unattended with no one in the house but the furbabies.
ESD - I went to plug in the iron this morning and saw that it was still plugged in. FI left for NYC yesterday MORNING. I thought of this thread this morning when I saw that and laughed. Thank GOD for the automatic shut off.

DH did something like this once, only it was one of the gas burners on the stove. How did he not notice?!?
