I weighed in yesterday and lost 1.2 lbs, yay! I've been consistently going to the gym and I've been good with my eating since starting to track again in MFP. I have to remember that I'm not going to be skinny overnight but to just keep plugging away.
wanderingenough I thought about the check in yesterday but didn't want to step on your toes!

I've gone to the gym twice this week so far, and will be going tomorrow. Not sure of my weight, I forgot to weigh myself this morning. Oh and I'm on day 7 of the 30 Day Planking Challenge.
My blood sugar numbers were a little high a couple times this week, but I'm pretty sure it's lack of activity. I mentioned that I have been in pain, so walking or really doing much of anything has been difficult. I might try walking tonight though since I'm feeling a bit better!
My weight has been stable. Actually I lost about a pound, haha. Normally that might worry me, but my doctor seemed happy that my weight was stable, so I'm ok with it. If I start losing too much I will definitely bring it up though since obviously I don't want to be losing weight right now! I just don't want to pack on too much! I really think cutting out a lot of sugar is why. I used to drink juice or pop almost daily and eat some sort of sweet daily also. I do tend to eat something sweet most nights, but that's pretty much it all day. Once I can eat more sugar again, I will probably go overboard for a day or two, but then I hope to make cutting sugar a habit! Haha. I was probably having way more than I should have in a day!
Eating-wise, I have been pretty good. I have been doing the whole30, and sticking to it 100% in terms of eating only compliant foods, but I did way overdo it on cashews yesterday and today. I think I can't eat them anymore, even though they're allowed on whole30, they are definitely a trigger for me.
I have done really well with no sweets/pastries and only having one snack between lunch and dinner. I have splurged a few days this week for a mug of hot cocoa at home since its been so cold. My water intake has been better as well.
This evening I was trying on bras at VS (I had a gift card from H for Christmas) and I think that was the kick in the butt I needed to start hard core exercising. I was so disappointed how my body looked.
I did a bad job exercising this week, my DVDs came in late and AF made her appearance, but AF is gone now so I don't feel shitty anymore!
Update: We walked for 20 min, then I took a bath. I feel amazing! Haha. Seriously though, my back is feeling pretty good right now. Hope it stays that way!
I drank a ton of water today, and only one soda. So that's good.
I also was tempted to get Pizza Hut instead of our oven roasted chicken and veggie leftovers. I texted H saying that PH sounded good tonight since his chiro is next door to the pizza. But he didn't check his phone til on his way home. So he offered to pay for delivery, but I got smart and said no pizza. I'm too cheap to pay for delivery now I guess.
I have been sticking to eating healthy for the most part. I think I'm going to go through the freezer and get rid of most of this excess Christmas goodies that I froze. (I didn't make them, they were all given to us and I don't want them in my house anymore, too much temptation.)
I haven't run as much as I would like but I am running so that's at least good.
@emtmissy- this is kinda random but I'm curious on how this works where you are.
Are there fitness requirements that you have to pass to maintain your job? I ask because here the only fitness requirement is a test before you get hired, but that is it. Nothing else your whole career, and I find it actually pretty ridiculous. I just looked at the test and I couldn't pass it if I was forced to do it today. I kinda wish they made you do it yearly or something so that I have more motivation. Lol
awick14- there are no requirements where I work. When I became an EMT it was required that you can lift 250lbs with your partner, but they never tested it on it. That was 11 years ago. Now to become an EMT they include they test you out on lifting in class. I had to work with a few people from my volunteer fire house to teach them how to lift correctly.
I'm known at work as the mule pretty much. I can lift almost any patient but I really work on my upper body strength to make sure I can. We don't have much help at times in the terms of lift assists. It's usually just me and my partner. The most I have lifted is a 500 pound patient with just me and my partner. Beyond that, we call for help depending on how much my partner can lift.
I'm not sure how the commercial agencies do it now. It's been over 5 years since I have worked for one.
So in a nutshell, to become an EMT there are lifting requirements, but after you get your certification there really isn't any. Whatever agency you belong with or work with may actually test but I can only speak for mine.
@emtmissy- 500lbs?! Wow we are required at hire to lift 125lbs by our selves. (So the same as your 250 with a partner.) I'm defiantly not as strong as you are. I will do a 300-325lb patient with my partner, anything else we get a lift assist from other EMTs or the fire department. (Completely separate departments here.)
