Ok so I totally know I'm late to this party, but I want to like this podcast and I do find it interesting I just can't focus on it.
I've listened to the 1st episode twice (today even!) now and it still seems so spotty. Should I try again before bed when I'm literally not doing anything else?
Or should I just resign to the fact that I might not be a pod cast person.
Try it when you have nothing else to focus on. My favorite times to listen to it were on the commute and working out. I actually LOVED listening to it while working out.

I started halfway through the series because H had already started it and I just couldn't find time to catch up. I didn't feel like I missed anything It was fine and I enjoyed listening with H, gave us something to talk about, but I wasn't obsessed with it. I actually thought the last episode was the first time I was like "omg this is interesting and I wish there were more".
Your commute would be the perfect time - H actually just bought a thing to put his phone on the dash just so we could listen to podcasts on the way to work because of this, lol.

I am just seeing this!
It's definitely a podcast that requires your focus. (Arguably, all podcasts are.) In order to make the connections, remember characters, etc. you will NEED to pay attention.
Give episode 2 a shot and let us know how it goes!
I have the attention span of a crow. I can't focus on this at all. I really want to listen, but I get distracted at the slightest noise.
Is there a website that just sums up everything that happened?
LOL I'm sure you could just google.
Maybe start with episode 6 or something like I did. You really don't miss too much...
*semi-spoiler alert?* (not really since this is all known, he's still in prison - it's more the story of how it happened and questioning whether the evidence is good enough to convict)
Basic premise: guy named Adnan has been in jail since he was 17 or something, which was 15 years ago, for the murder of his ex-gf. She had a new bf at the time. There's circumstantial evidence that connects Adnan with the crime, but as they pick it all apart, there are lots of holes.
The interesting parts to me were thinking about why he doesn't remember what happened (would you be able to tell us in detail what you did the night of Dec 10th with no access to your calendar?), cultural dynamics, history of the lawyers, how cell phone data can be misleading, about organizations that look into wrongful convictions (how often are people masterminds vs. innocent?)... weird things like that.
I won't tell you anything about the last episode because there was some fun stuff there!
i listened to it on my driving commute, walking commute, and then periodically at work. i binge listened to this and finished 9 episodes in 2 days. it's addicting.
