I couldn't fit in my original question, so I was going to ask if it bothers you.
Making money of Pinterest links bothers me. I don't even mean links that go back to their site (because...well, that makes sense)
I guess it bothers me that supposedly Sally pins a purse she likes, I click on the link (from rstyle or what ever other site) and then it can stay in my cookies for 60 days. So 2 months later, I decide to go back to the site and buy a different item, Sally will make money.
Making money from their blogs doesn't bother me as much as it does for other people, but making money off an item they posted on Pinterest does because there's not actual work to be done.
Who knows. Some would just say I'm jealousE I can't make money pinning

I don't get why this bothers people. I really don't. You aren't paying anymore for the item, they make so little off each sale, and most bloggers mention when they get paid through links. Besides, blogs take work. If they're able to make a couple of bucks then why not?

I think that's why people are upset.
The money is NOT from work on their blog. There is no disclosure on Pinterest.
If you've randomly clicked on a purse or pair of shoes you've seen on Pinterest, you could be giving some random person cash.

This doesn't bother me at all. If, in your example, Sally pins a cute purse, and I end up buying that purse, it means that I bought the purse due to Sally. Why shouldn't Sally get a few cents for guiding me to the purse?
Income comes in many forms; it isn't always derived from active labor or effort. Look at quarterly dividends as an example of passive income. Do you have a similar issue with dividend income?
It doesn't bother me. I think it's great that bloggers are able to create a new stream of income and possibly leave their full-time jobs to pursue their passions.

Well, technically, it wouldn't be the same item. Anything you bought from the website, even weeks later, would have them make money.
But like I said, I was just posting an article for discussion. So things aren't always about bubble necklaces Not sure how now this is about me having issues with dividend income?
As long as it's not spam it doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I'm quite impressed at all the new jobs/ways to make money blogs and Pinterest in general have brought about. Five years ago I couldn't imagine someone being a SAHM because their blog brought in enough income. I think it's pretty amazing.
It kinda bugged me on the nest when someone would post those rstyle links in response to "please find me a dress" posts, instead of linking direct to the website.
Technically, those links are prohibited on the nest.
As far as pinterest and bloggers. Meh. I have links to zoya that way to earn bonus points should people sign up.
However, zoya is a friggen #($&%(#&* with their links because they expire after a set time. They don't notify you that they expire.

You're not too pleased with pinners getting money from this scheme b/c it doesn't require any effort on their part, right? I'm just trying to say that there's a lot of people that make money without exerting any work or effort, such as shareholders that receive dividend income. Stock just sits in your portfolio and, without any effort on the shareholder's part, a dividend or two magically appears every quarter. Example of people making bank, without having to "work for it."

Lol it still doesn't bother me in the least. It doesn't affect me at all really and there are lot of bigger issues that I can spend my energy getting all worked up over.
I just don't see why a person making a couple of bucks off a link bothers you so much.
I've never bought anything through a Pinterest link, but I prefer bloggers to disclose if they're using affiliate links. Putting the links on Pinterest seems spammy to me.

It doesn't bother me either. A lot of these people do take a lot of time to create really interesting boards with a variety of choices. So some of them are working at it also, the way a blogger does. Just in a different form. Just viewing someone's blog (without buying something from a link) brings them revenue through page views & an increased Alexa ranking. So since I don't believe Pinterest gives any type of money for # of board views, I don't mind them making a little for people buying from links.

Pinterest has to make money in some form and paying Bloggers what I'd assume is a small portion of their revenue to pin items seems like a great idea to me. There aren't annoying POAS pop ups or other ads cluttering up the site. Some Piners actually have awesome boards that look like inspiration boards created by a stylist and others take care to make their boards cohesive and fun. It's making fashion and decorating more friendly for the intimidated and giving photographers some amazing inspiration. Not everyonr copies things exactly, but if they do I don't see a problem from it.
