LMAO. Personally, I hate Old Navy and Gap jeans. They never fit me correctly and it's not like I have extra junk in my trunk or wide hips. I do like Express' jeans, but I can't fit the Rerock jeans. They are too small in the thighs for me. My favorite jeans are Ann Taylor or Loft.

I'll admit to wearing Old Navy jeans because they are cheap. I have one pair that fits amazingly and several that are for grocery store only. My Banana Republic jeans, OTOH, are outstanding in every way. My problem with the "designer" or "not ON/Gap" jeans this blogger shows is that they have those annoying embellishments on the back pockets. I'm not 15, and while I'd love to have a 15 y.o.'s butt, I don't need the paisley/rhinestone/pocket flaps. What's a brand that doesn't have obnoxious designs?
I need somebody to go shopping with me who I trust to tell me how my ass looks in candid terms.
I have such a hard time finding pants that actually fit both my thighs and my waist at the same time that I've always lacked the energy to care how they really look at that point.
Of course I suspect this will have to wait till after february.

I had the same problem with the crazy pockets myself. I have a pair of ON jeans that I love and another that I just wear when I'm cleaning. I was hoping to get some suggestions about where to buy nice jeans because I feel like whenever I go into other stores I can't find just a regular pair of jeans. I hate holes and all that other crap people do to jeans.
I always order Gap/ON jeans when I want to try something trendy but don't want to spend the money on premium denim.
Without fail, I return them and go buy a pair of said trendy jeans from Nordstrom in a premium denim brand. After reading this blog post the other day, I figured I'm saving myself time & money (shipping/gas to return/etc) if I just go with the nicer brands I like. I told MH that and he told me that I wouldn't know saving money if it bit me in my (non-mom jean) ass.
Joe's Jeans...they are awesome and have a good pock size with almost no decoration. Nordstrom Rack or TJ Maxx often has them for prices that are comparable to Gap. I have a couple pairs that I adore that are now collecting dust on a shelf in my closet while I'm busy not losing this baby weight.

I used to have an amazing pair of gap jeans. I had a little funeral for them when they wore out and I had to stop wearing them.
I've all but given up on Old Navy jeans. My hips are about 1 1/2 sizes larger than my waist and they always look funny on me without a ton of tailoring.
I had to get a pair of ON jeans to help me through this post-baby period (why are my thighs so huge?!?) and they are total mom jeans. It's embarrassing. Like I look like I belong on that Saturday Night Live skit.
I want my COHs to fit again!!! (she says as she finishes her Cakester. Mmm oreo.)
For me to wear any pair of jeans or pants they need to be classic fits. I hate, hate, hate the below the waist fits. Please when will the fashion industry realize we aren't all 15 years old?
I actually haven't worn a pair of jeans in awhile, but Lee and Liz Claiborne always fit my shape very well.
And these are my LEAST mom-jeans jeans that I have. As far as how high the rise is .... I have serious scarycrazy muffin top since kid #2, so the rise is always on the high-ish side. I just stood up and they're like 2 inches below my belly button. I'm too embarrassed to measure the rise, lol
Gap is wonderful for khakis. They fit just right on me. Their jeans just stretch out too much. I HATE spandex in jeans, even just 1%.
I currently have NO ass because of all my running, so jeans shopping is depressing as hell. I have no waist and no ass. Sweet. When I had an ass, Luckys were my faves.
I don't like snazzy pockets either, but I tried to look past that.
I do have a recommendation for anyone who feels like they need a little help keeping their gut in and don't want to wear low rise jeans. Paige Hidden Hills. Buy them. You'll thank me. I tried on the pair that was on sale at Nordstrom for the anniversary sale and they were the most flattering jeans I have ever worn. So I bought them.
I also like Hudson jeans - their regular bootcut (or supermodel - tall length) and their Collin skinny jeans. They have a wider waistband with 2 buttons and I think it helps.*
